  1. They did not actually sell Tevez, as he was never theirs to sell. And it was lying about this on two separate occasions that caused so much trouble. However as we're talking greatest sporting achievement I too would go with Woods, Federer and Liverpool coming back after being 3-0 down...Oh and that Mansfield woman who won 2 swimming golds at the Olympics...

    Rugby matters

    No it doesn't. B)
  3. Yes, on refelction I think "room mates" looks better too !
  4. Emily Bronte would have supported Bradford City, clearly. Manchester City would be more your Elizabeth Gaskell I reckon.
  5. The other thing you need to be wary of if this happens is the upstairs neighbour charging down and demanding poor old Tibbles takes her weed outside...B)

  10. I wondered if you might bite! :)) Not that great a move though surely, as Liverpool still lost their final! No I am not Colin - who now lives in Beckenham you know! - merely a long-suffering Blades supporter. We did not play an a particularlly understrength side against Man Utd - certainly not Paddy Kenny + 10 reserves in the Wolves style - and the Man Utd side that played West Ham lookied pretty strong to me and should have won it. In any case I was not trying to rip a scab off an old wound, merely pointing out that what McCarthy did was nothing special, and not likely to get punished. But all the same I hope Burnley thrash Wolves at the weekend, for the same reason Colin wanted Liverpool to lose their European final - poetic justice!
  11. Liverpool did exactly the same a few seasons back for a premier match at Fulham immediately before their european final. Fulham won their first game in yonks and avoided relegation as a direct consequence. It's horridly unfair and against the spirit etc etc but there's nothing to be done!
  12. It's the cougars of West Dulwich that terrify me....B)
  13. 22 engine
  14. Giggs has been a great footballer, and had the grace to seem genuinely shocked by the Beeb award. But really it's the most ludicrous since Princess Anne won it. Time to revamp the voting system again Beeb!
  15. More.. "No Mr Bond, I expect you to die" - and the rest of that laser scene in "Goldfinger" "Diva" - on the art of making a sandwich "Les Amants du Pont Neuf" - Juliette Binoche water-skiing along the Seine
  16. We have goose every year. Apple sauce goes well with it, and slow-roasting is good. You need to prick the flesh all over with a skewer and be prepared to pour off the fat half-way through roasting. Also a goose yields far less meat than a turkey - so don't expect to feed massive numbers with one! It's also nice cold and thinky sliced...

  21. Oh and how could I forget Jenny Agutter's first sight of her father near the end of "The Railway Children"!
  22. If they somehow provided parking even for only a few cars then the traffic would just increase exponentially! I'm guessing this branch will thrive the way Herne Hill one does; it's not aimed at cusotmers arriving by car.
  23. 10 clutch?
  24. It's butter not marge and, typical bloke, he gets Maria Schneider to fetch it for him first.. >:D< 1. Omar Sharif's first appearance in "Laurence of Arabia" 2. The opening scene of "Betty Blue" 3. The closing montage of "The Godfather"
  25. Pretty watered-down support though no? :))
