>>SimonM...I see killgallon has gone. A big loss? Nice to see another ex-Leeds academy product in the premiership though.<< I think so. But he is in his prime at 26 & it has been clear for ages he wanted to leave, so ?2 million 21 games before he could have gone for nothing is not bad going. He turned down both Newcastle and Burnley before agreeing to Sunderland. I take it you realise Leeds get 20% of the fee? :))
I was amused to read in The Guardian that what Tevez (in his own language, obviously) actually called Neville was a "sock-sucker" (sic) - and the Grauniad helpfully explained this was idiom for "boot licker". Hmmm...if they think so...:)
I always associate Magna Carta with Tony Hancock ("Did she die in vain?!") There is nothing sacrosanct about trial by jury. It's not an especially efficient system. Someone - I forget who - once defined a jury as 12 people too dim to get out of doing jury service...
I like Ross's Friday night show too, and his film programmes (where of course he adopts a quite different persona). I have seen nothing yet which says he cannot continue to present both types of programme as a freelance....
Apparently Beckford put in that transfer request before the Old Trafford game. But scoring goals freely in Division 1 does not mean he would hack it in the Championship, let alone the Premier. Glad to see Kilgallon has declined a move to Newcastle though!
I saw a lot of Leeds in the late 60's and early 70's. They were no dirtier than Man Utd (Stiles anyone? Ian Ure?). They suffered because the football media loved the Manchester and London sides, as well as Shankly's Liverpool. Eddie Gray and Peter Lorimer were wonderful to watch - and I say this as a Sheffield Utd supporter. Now if only my lot can beat QPR in the replay and then Bolton, then *after* Leeds have seen off Spurs a Leeds/Sheff Utd 5th round tie would have all kinds of needle attached to it!>:D<
You're all just a bunch of amateurs.... For really feeling old, try getting a 60th birthday card, as I did yesterday. Even if I *am* in Miami Beach...:))
Thanks for the generous feedback and kind offers! I simply had not thought of Skyplayer and have now signed up with it. I'll actually be paying Sky less for the first 6 months than I do currently too! Now if only we can win the damn game!
OK so I wanted to watch Leicester v Sheffield Utd live on Sky on Saturday but the Box has died and Sky cannot fix it before next week. I am looking at watching the game online instead. Does anyone have any advice or warning about what software is safe/reliable/dangerous to download for this? They all seem to be Chinese...
