  1. Emily Brontesaurus................
  2. Untrue and definitely libellous.
  3. You really ought to let it lie after all this time you know! And you're not being terribly logical either. If QPR get docked any points - and despite what a certain loathesome tabloid claims there's no evidence anything's been decided or even considered yet - then this would only serve to underline (three times, in garish green ink) the disgracefully lenient and anomalous treatment WHU received a few years back. Has WHU managed 38 points in any seasons since then (the total Sheffield United were relagted with)? Warnock is certainly innocent anyway as the alleged "offences" occurred before he moved to QPR. More generally it would seem that any points deduction would commence at the start of next season rather than affect this season's promotion issues? (I am not sure about this point - maybe someone has a definitive answer?). But if the deduction was to apply for this season then the resulting chaos with the play-offs would be horrendous, as QPR would almost certainly appeal. So my guess would be a 5 point penalty if guilty, applicable this season.>:D<
  4. Skate Middleton, Cobra Winfrey, Ed Millipede...
  5. Oh well trust me you do need a strong and resilient sense of humour to watch the lads on a regular basis!:))
  6. They played well except for their finishing! it should have been 5-0 at worst! I could scarcely believe how one-sided the whole game was.
  7. It's interesting that it was YNWA that became the anthem and not 1 of the jauntier, easier-to-sing Beatles numbers around at the time. I suppose the lyrics and sentiments were crucial. Still reckon that, lyrically, the Greasy Chip Butty Song, is far superior! :))
  8. . You make too many assumptions. But I will stick to saying that I know from experience that certain local councils are not shy in ignoring legal advice from their own Legal Services, if for whatever reason it suits them to do so. Council Legal Services can only advise their client of the legal position.
  9. I never worked out whether Liverpool fans adopted YNWA on the back of Gerry & The Pacemakers's recording which made it to no. 1, or whether *he* recorded it because it was the Liverpool anthem?
  10. Southwark's Head of Legal Services has no power to "intervene". He/she can only act or advise if instructed to do so by the appropriate client directorate.
  11. Oy! The FA Youth Cup is heading to Bramall Lane for the 1st time ever! >:D
  12. I agree 2.5% is very high, and Foxton's valuations also always look way over the top. To be fair though their web site is terrific. But the proof of the pudding will always be the success rate in achieved sales....
  13. Despite all the fine words and sentiments, I'd not be at all surpised to see Bale move north in the summer for a truly gigsntic fee..
  14. www.houseprices.co.uk can be quite informative...
  15. Look again - Yorkshire are still top! :)
  16. You do know Scoop often have a vastly superior Mint Choc Chip to take away in large tubs right? :))
  17. Yorkshire, top of the table 3 days into the new season!>:D
  18. Just follow the signs for Brighton until they hit the South Circular..
  19. On the subject of FA Cup finals, a dreadful, dreadful year for us Sheffield United fans is being brightened up a little by our reaching such a final for the first time, our opponents will be Chelsea or Manchester United and it will be played oer 2 legs.:))
  20. Ah! I was going back even earlier, so maybe they switched the Southwark Park event to Burgess after they had done it up?
  21. Crouch manages two indisputable yellows in the 1st 15 minutes and effectively ends the contest of both match and tie..
  22. Pshaw! Were you not such an arriviste you'd perhaps be able to recall that a while back I reported on here as having seen a pink hearse (empty!) gliding along Forest Hill Road...Now that was incongruous! :))
  23. There's really nothing odd or incongruous about this though! Wheeling uphill is very tiring. Clearly he has some use of his legs and finds it easier and (probably) invaluable exercise to use the chair as a walking frame when manoeuvring uphill: then into the chair to rest the old legs when back on the flat...
  24. Rooney merely used a word sprinkled liberally throught various TV programmes. He did not (this time!) almost cripple someone or give the referee a mouthful of abuse or mug a granny or ride his Ferrari on the pavement: where is the sense of proportion?!
  25. The "excuse" is that they pay all that money (and presumably make handsome profits on their "investment") to televise football matches, not to mould and manipulate the game into something different. Footballers at every level tend to cuss just a little bit :'( when things go very right or very wrong, so if Sky wants to stick a microphone on players during the game they should know and of course do know what to expect. If the Premier League in its hypocritical wisdom elects to fine Rooney then Sky should do the decent thing and pay the fine for him. ("Premier League", "Rooney", "Sky" & "decent" rarely found in the same sentence no? :)))
