  1. Am I the only one dying to know which road this was? :))
  2. But does anyone know where their actual bakery is located, as distinct from the shop/retail outlet for their produce?
  3. Excellent suggestion - but I don't know where the guy who invented this form of packaging actually lives :))

  5. Well there's this one....
  6. >>I've become rather smitten with the actress Claire Foy who plays Little Dorrit in the Charles Dickens costume drama on the BBC at moment. She really is rather lovely and is a very fine actress too. Beauty and talent is a very fine combination.<< She reminds me a little of a young Keeley Hawes - which is a little ironic given whom she is playing against :))

  9. >>This one? << No that's an American one. The one I saw was definitely based on a British hearse. B)
  10. ....move it back to 1975 when it had an old fashioned Sainsbury's, a Marks & Spencer, Jones & Higgins dept. store.... :)

  12. >>So if you aren't a very good cyclist, you shouldn't be on a bike. So how to you practise to become a good cyclist? << The perimeter road in Dulwich Park?
  13. So I am quietly sipping my coffee outside Cafe 2050, dipping my croissant as is my wont, when along Forest Hill Road passes this hearse - a working (but empty!) one too - that has been sprayed pink. (And, yes, I would not be seen dead in one either). A little later, on Underhill Road, I pass a white van on top of which is a rather large pink elephant in plastic or fibreglass or something. The sides of the van offer no clues as to what trade or business the driver is engaged in and I ams till racking my brains as to what a pink elephant might signify....
  14. ...or who was that guy who used to belt out "Mule Train" whilst banging a tin tray on his head in time ?? :))

  18. I think TfL should employ people who can write in English:- "TfL said it aimed to avoid redundancies but a spokesman said the organisation was looking at "de-layering of management" and was looking at "reductions in headcount","
  19. A Birkin is a Handbag and a girl thang: a Merkin is not a handbag but a (kinda) girl thong. A Birkin is also a skinny English bird who married a French roue
  20. "Marathon" was Greek...the latin word was "Snickus" Thou shalt brush up on thy classic languages before inflicting drollery on hoi polloi!
