  1. Are they based in ED warehouse?
  2. It was lovely....my boys couldn't believe the bouncy castle was free! Lots of energy expended there....munched through hot cross buns and balanced 4 Easter nests all the way home..quite a few people checking the place out and over 100 children having fun....couldn't have gone better x
  3. Bessemer Grange Children's Centre is holding an Easter Family Fun Day with free fun activities for children under 8yrs old. (Quoting the poster!). 10.30 - 2.30pm A good chance for all those wanting to have a look round the reception and nursery rooms! Should be fun... The address is: Dylways SE5 8HP
  4. And for those looking for Bessemer Grange, it's pretty much the same route...
  5. Might be worth talking to the Albrighton Centre too as I know they have had alot of their funding cut....
  6. The mobile libraries have been cut...a real shame. They used to visit Bessemer every two weeks and there were regulars using it as well as families who had never gone into a library being encouraged to use the service. The kids used to look like they were in a sweet shop when they were reassured it was free and they could take out more than one book!
  7. Southwark..it's all centralised now.
  8. You can definately accept and still go on the waiting list for Heber. Accepting a place at one does not affect your placing on a waiting list - the old criteria still stand for moving up the waiting list ie distance etc.
  9. And quite a few will be sibling places too (who may live further away).
  10. It could always be a 'donation' of a ?1 and they could see if those paying covers costs.
  11. Fantastic, well done everyone x
  12. Anyone know when the new one is opening?
  13. Ah, I've obviously got alot of growing up to do!! Eldest is only 6, can't imagine just packing him off to make his own way!!...
  14. Interested to know..if you have younger children at a primary school but get offered a secondary school a long way away from that, how does it work?....you can't get both sets to both at the same time?....
  15. Not at secondary school stuff yet but interested to know where people in East Dulwich nr Goose Green end of Lordship Lane have been offered if it is not Charter or Kingsdale.....
  16. Really recommend Magic Moments as an introduction to it all.
  17. Amott Road nursery (very cheap as parent run)...you can also apply to all state school nurseries individually it doesn't mean you then go onto the primary there. As far as I know all the state school nurseries are good - Off the top of my head Goose Green, Dog Kennel Hill and Bessemer Grange.
  18. I think the problem with the Camberwell clinic is that the computers 'prioritise' you....when I went I got there BEFORE it opened and saw a doctor AFTER ALL THE LIGHTS HAD GONE OUT AND THE RECEPTIONISTS GONE?!!! Needless to say I was not a priority....I guess I should be grateful my needs were not desperate...lucky I had someone happy to look after the kids though!! Crap system.
  19. Sorry Orchard, not sure when it goes up on the website but would guess in a couple of weeks?..(If you're keen to see it earlier the school office might give you a copy...all the parents have had one.)
  20. Hooray for Bessemer Grange Primary School for their recent glowing ofsted report, citing 'Good' in all categories. Highlights were: - Pupils' development of creative skills is a continuing strength - The breakfast club provides a safe and stimulating environment - Levels reached by both boys and girls in mathematics in 2010 were above the national average - Pupils relate well to one another and to teachers and other adults. They enjoy lessons, and take part wholeheartedly in whole-class and small group discussions. - Pupils are courteous and considerate...In assemblies, they take pride in others' achievements as well as in their own - Pupils' experience of taking on responsibility and of working cooperatively, as well as the progress they make in their grasp of basic skills, ensures that they are well prepared for the next stage of their education and for their future working lives -Teachers are expert in and enthusiastic about their subjects and have high expectations of pupils in terms of both work and behaviour - Parents and carers confirm that teachers are approachable and respond quickly and effectively to any concerns they may have - Leaders at all levels are passionate about improving outcomes for pupils As their prospectus states 'Southwarks' best kept secret'......I'm guessing not for much longer!! WELL DONE X
  21. Monday morning 10 - 11.30am 'Messy Play' (Basically a baby toddler group) at Bessemer Grange Children's Centre. Think there is also an NCT Bumps and Babes group at the Goose Green Centre on a Mon.
  22. Babycalming and anything by Penelope Leach
  23. No, you're right there is now another sign saying they are no longer taking toys...hope the new supershop will do...
  24. When I last asked they said they were taking them again.
