  1. Bringing the future monarch into the world sounds like it is going to be jolly hard work for La Duchesse and probably not what she signed up for. There would always be the possibility she could have the same thing again so wonder how keen she would be to pop out another one. I have no fondness for them, but I cannot understand the media city camped outside the hospital for someone who is going through. I really think it the should be banned from being there. It's incredibly intrusive when you aren't feeling well.

Otta, These? I thought my query was short and to the point. Sorry I offended you.

I pm'd you. Have seen work Jan has done, and will go and ask the house owners what they thought.
  5. Er you cannot recommend your partner. That is like recommending yourself, which is also not allowed.

Can you confirm that businesses aren't supposed to be advertising in the for sale section and also cannot big themselves up more than once in the business section. And, they have to have an ED address or can it be further afield?

I remember seeing that first advert where they were asking for things to furnish the flat with.

Too many people not putting Sold in the subject line but instead adding onto their post which brings it up to the top again rather pointlessly. Ok, great that your item has sold but we don't all need to know about it.
  10. Rescue places sell animals. A pedigree breeder who sells puppies and can show that all the relevant health tests have been done on the dam and sire is being responsible. I certainly wouldn't expect them to give them away for free. And, just because they are a Kennel Club approved breeder doesn't mean that they have the animals best interests at heart. You only have to look at (most) Bassets, Pugs, German Shepherds, English Bulldogs, and watch the two programmes of Pedigree Dogs Exposed to see that Kennel Clubs still has a long way to go.
  11. Saffron, Is chickenpox worse than shingles? I have heard of people getting shingles near their eyes and all over their face and that it can be very painful and I presume dangerous. And, I have a friend who had chickenpox twice, once as a child and then again as an adult. She had it everywhere as an adult and had to take 3 weeks off work.
  12. Sounds like Southwark set up the Lucas Gdns parking zone with the knowledge that this would happen and then they could roll out more CPZs. Did no one object to the Lucas Gardens CPZ? Do you really want to have to pay and provide a permit for any visitor or tradesperson coming to your house?
  13. Excellent! How did they taste?
  14. Do you have AA membership or know someone who does as they will come out and do it for you?
  15. Maybe the dough comes in pre-mixed so the flour doesn't go flying about. I hope so. I think gluten free pizza is a great idea.

I have seen it done on a table, a chair, and on the floor. It's not an urban myth.
  17. But doesn't the proximity to non gluten free pizzas pose a potential problem?
  18. Woodrot, Thanks bro.....you are obviously better at googling than I am.

  20. Dulwich Globetrotter, Estate agents are only as good as the people they have working there. Certain agents like Haart and Bushells have had the same people working at their ED offices for a long while. They have the aim to keep the price high for a short while only, to suss out the people on their books, because what they really want is their commission. Keeping the price high for a long period to time is not useful to them because it delays that pinging into their bank account. Them getting you another twenty or thirty grand doesn't give them a whole lot more on a commission rate of 1.5 percent so they want to sell it asap. You would think they would have the sellers interest at heart, but based on the many conversations I have had with various of them they tell you things as a buyer that they should not be telling you if indeed they are supposed to be acting in the best interests of the seller. Both ends are usually played against the middle in order to secure their cut. There is a lot of money in the back pocket being taken by rogue (or not so rogue) agents, who will indicate to a buyer that if you cross their palm with silver then they will make sure they get a house for you. Sealed bids can be manipulated in that way. All other offers can be made to disappear in return for you giving someone a bung. That is probably what happened in the case of your higher offer not securing you a property you wanted. Would like to know if there is anyone out there who has been happy with their dealings with Foxtons, either buyer or seller as your experience seems typical. Foxtons were taken to court a while back for having illegal contracts.
  21. SW, You brought it up. How hygienic. Lots of nappy changing going on in restaurants and cafes around here. Doesn't mean it's appropriate.
  22. You change a baby inside a cafe where people are eating?
