Strange about Pickwicks as they usually have such good feedback. What did they do that was underhand? I have found in the past it is usually one person at an agency who is dishonest, not the whole agency. If they were actually dishonest then they should be reported to the NAEA.
  2. You also said that the owners of Jacks were going to take over Cafe Nero in August, so how can we believe you? That aside, did you say anything to the owners?
  3. There is a Peckham Rye, SE22......

Did she live on Nutfield Rd as there was supposedly a brothel there?
  5. John K, When did the SE5 into SE22 happen? That is just bizarre. The flats opposite Sainsburys - Dog Kennel Hill Estate? are all SE22 which is also a bit random. Were they also SE5 at one point?
  6. How is it that Grove Vale on both sides is SE22 and the roads leading off it like Coplestone, Oglander, Ondine are SE15? Also, the new development off Coplestone is SE22 and it was only recently built. St. John's Church is SE22 and the school that belongs to is on Adys Rd. SE15.
  7. Does anyone have a link to one that is downloadable for free?
  8. There is a poster on here - gsirett, Giles, who seemed to do most of the coordinating for this. Perhaps contact him?
  9. Whoever that was they have now been deleted. I thought August was the silly season.
  10. When I was burgled (not in this area) I had the local Crime Prevention Officer come round to advise me on what to do to make my flat more secure. I was a complete novice on things like that and he advised me on specific window locks etc. Your insurance will also be affected if you don't have the right locks in place and are burgled. If you rent, have a word with your landlord.
  11. What's up with this sudden influx of chatty newbies?
  12. We are heading back to the garbage strewn streets of the Seventies, with the irregular non weekly collections and stuff being dumped because people are too lazy to get rid of it properly. Maybe no power cuts but can imagine sitting in the dark and cold due to not being able to afford the power bills. Retro food is back - Spam anyone?
  13. My grandma used to cook us fried apple in butter and added sugar and cinnamon for an after school treat. Her mother did it for her and her sister.
  14. KK, Agree with you. Apparently doesn't want any advice - he just wanted to alert other people - but it would have been useful if he had said that first.
  15. Can you go in again and tape him on your phone giving you his excuses so you have something concrete?
  16. EPB, Why did you go to Crown and Greyhound after seeing how many consistently bad reviews it gets on here? Doing a search should bring up even more.
  17. You would hope that if you took your possessions to a local established bric a brac shop that you wouldn't need a written agreement, but sadly I guess you do. I don't think that would stop you from seeking legal recourse in the small claims court. It might be worth having a word with the local police station - phone them first?
  18. Interesting that Lewisham do weekly rubbish and recycling collections. Did they ever try the alternate week thing? do you have a bin for garden waste? Do they collect unwanted household goods for free like Southwark. Was gobsmacked when I moved here that a borough did that. I had left a borough that didn't even have wheely bins - Camden.
  19. Open today with a sign saying pop up. All I could see was a small space in front with counter behind. Looked radically different......
  20. What are the plus points of Lewisham Council vs. Southwark? Do they do same kind of recycling ie everything? Free pickups of furniture etc?
  21. I am selling some unused Aveeno lotion over in the classified sections. 2 400 ml for ?10 or 1 for ?6. I also have some unused Aveeno bath and shower oil. Very good with the extremely hard water we have here in London.
  22. It's a tiny forum without much action going on.
