I saw a 2 bed house in Jennings Rd. advertised for more than 7k a month and a 3 bed in Crystal Palace Rd for over 12k a month - are these prices for real? Edited to say they can't be as I just checked the actual website and it appears Prime Location inserted a 1 in front of the 2 for the Crystal Palace Rd. house. There are still lots of extremely high SE22 rental prices on Prime Location website - not sure how they could make such a massive mistake on the prices.
Have a look at the NHS Choices website. One poster said that they had a receptionist admit that they had no GPs at the practice on one particular day. Perhaps this is quite common and the receptionists have been told not to admit to this fact. How is is possible to have no GPs, not even a locum at a surgery?
Met a guy in Goose Green recently who had a huge intact young male who was half Pitbull/half American bulldog. To his credit he did have the dog on a lead but he was having trouble controlling him. The dog was incredibly strong. Aren't pit crosses illegal?
I don't think you can make appts at the Lister if you are not a patient there can you? Last time I went they couldn't see me as they said the waiting time was too long. Remember Fuschia saying she was once told 3 hrs. wait time.
Bit afraid to just chuck stuff in at the moment. What you did sounds like a chinese barbeque version! Am a bit addicted to vinegary things at the moment. Am cooking cabbage, leeks and onions (sometimes with bacon if I have it) and adding apple cider vinegar to it. Really nice. Can add caraway seeds.
The receptionists at Melbourne Grove are still pretty useless. There is a new one who looks like a frightened rabbit, but that person is quite nice. None of them ever looks welcoming. Sigh.
Yes, have heard about the pulled war in North Carolina. Am veering towards a rub with sage, thyme, paprika, salt and pepper and cooked with caraway, sauerkraut, potatoes. apples and onions. Not traditional, but the reviews are ecstatic.
Didn't hear any more there was a robbery and that it was armed. Looking for dosh I guess, unless something else is going on there. Do sunbeds still exist or is it all the stand up things?
You will need deep pockets for anything to do with Southwark. I believe most councils are corrupt when it comes to repairs. They aim to offset most of the work onto the leaseholders as they don't get any money back from the council tenants. They will come up with 3 estimates and then say they picked the cheapest one. But it will no doubt be that the other two were enormously inflated to begin with. The standard of work done is appalling. No undercoat usually, so paint flakes off very quickly. There have been a few stories on here of people having problems with Southwark with their leasehold flats that were only 2 flats in a building. How many other leaseholders are in the building? When was the last major work carried out? I went past my previous flat about a year after the work had been carried aout and you could not see that any work had been done at all. Window works - as in replacing the windows with double glazing? What work has been done to the building in the last 20 years or so? Southwark carried out major works on most of their blocks about 12 years ago, inc. replacing windows.
