  1. Beauval Road very slippery too - all the kids out in the road having snowball fights!
  2. I would say if you haven't left work now you should asap. It has been snowing heavily in Dulwich for a while now, and my street is very very slippery (its a hill though and not a main street). Big flakes, settling very easily, and not looking like it will stop any time soon.
  3. TaraC - it might depend where you are in E Dulwich, the snow is definitely settling on my road, which is a hill. Mr Beagle now home with more news. The 12.19 London Bridge to Duliwch was cancelled due to the lack of a driver so he had to wait for a later train. Once underway, the train journey was normal. Northern Line is running ok now after bad rush hour start. Main roads look fairly clear, and he saw plenty of buses around. General view seems to be come home before the heavy snow starts (if it starts as predicted) but at the moment travel is mostly ok on that route.
  4. Mr beagle has just travelled on the train from London Bridge to North Dulwich with no problems, but staff at London Bridge are saying the evening commute will be very disrupted if the forecast of heavy snow is correct.
  5. Sue - I don't want to add to your stress, but do think about this one point for a second. They TV company offered you some money. That means they think they are at least partly liable. Sounds to me like you might be able to get some of your money back without too much more hassle. Try writing back saying you are seeking legal advice but will accept ?2,000 in full and final settlement..........or you'll get in touch with the papers. I did that to my kitchen company who were woefully terrible, so I have SO MUCH sympathy with you, and they paid up pronto.
  6. Breath Ms B, and walk away. Don't give him the satisfaction. Naughty boy.
  7. I LOVE the snow - bring it on!!
  8. My son was a terrible sleeper, and now at 2.5 he is a brilliant sleeper. He's still in his cot, and more than happy so that's where he's going to stay till he tells me otherwise. There seems to be lots of pressure to do things with children by a certain stage: wean, sleep through, move to beds, potty train, etc etc. I say go with what suits your wee one and ignore what everyone else is doing!
  9. The Dog in the village is dog friendly!
  10. I'm with you James. Let's focus on the amazing braveness of two passing women instead, and be grateful that there are people around who will risk their own safety to save someone else's life.
  11. I don't think it's the blood, more that if the bottle that we are told was used to stab the person was cleared up then the finger prints of the alleged attacked might be rubbed off etc. I'm speculating though, since I wasn't there and don't know what happened!
  12. Sainsburys used to do one too.
  13. Good on Nikki, and the policewoman, they are true heros. We all like to think we'd help someone in real trouble but I bet few of us are as brave as them. I hope they recover from the shock, it must have been really traumatic. Someone undoubtedly owes their son's life to these two brave women!
  14. Calling all the heroes - It Bites
  15. Call me - Blondie
  16. Seeing queue of scantily clad girls outside a night club and thinking "she'll catch her death of cold in that - she really should have brought a nice warm cardy!"
  17. I wasn't an only child but I was a middle child - could it be that? [Must find therapist.....Must find therapist....exit stage left gibbering quietly]

But don't forget your bobble hat and mittens.
  19. > Forgive me for I have sinned > *hangs head in shame* Oh please don't apologise! I just can't seem to help my Truss-like fussing over the apostrophe. [but do try not to do it again.]

Oh dear. And again. The possessive "its" does not require an apostrophe. Only the contractive "it's" (meaning "it is").

  22. And your chickens!
  23. Oh good lordy. Singing outside during late night shopping is certainly going to be atmospheric!
  24. Ah shame - I was hoping for something disgraceful! Instead I've learned something useful about how to get quick answers on the forum. Hmm........
  25. Ooooooh no not just you, I'm really curious too. Confess RosieH confess! Readers deserve to know!
