I got one from the US for my office to use, we are trying to look at alternative solutions to printing meeting packs etc which can cost a fortune in paper and printing and just get thrown away afterwards. It has divided opinion in the office, most people have been over to have a play, swipe across the screen. All of us have said it heavier than you would think, so if you were reading a book on it you wouldnt be bale to hold it up for that long. It does feel pretty solid though. It comes with a little book store and a winnie the pooh book loaded up, scrolling through the book pages is brilliant you can adjust the brightness. I havent looked at the much else on it. You can load up pics etc... BUt again with the weight you couldnt hold it like a book for long. To sum up the office opinions, half the people just can't see the point of it, the actual screen is only about A5 size, so if you want something portable, in your pocket, what does it offer that the iphone doesnt? Lots have said if the screen was larger it would be better. If you want it larger then you may as well get the apple air macbook thingy, becasuse once you have added a protective cover to the ipad, its the same size if not bigger. Typing on the keypad is ok, but it helps to be able to sit it on an angle, rather than flat and most people made errors when it was flat on the desk, so you need to find a little stand for it if you want to type! The other half of the office think it looks great, feels great and if you have the money, then why the hell not have a new gadget! The thing i find most annoying is that it does not have a USB port, so if you wanted to quickly upload some pics to show people you need to have all the plugs etc. Everyone agrees that you need a cloth to polish away the scuzzy fingerprints that build up!! If i had money to burn... I would probably get one...

Lived in France for 4 years (Paris and Lyon) can't say i think its the best place to live at all. Brilliant place to go on holiday and have fun, but to live and work, London beats it in my opinion. Agree Bois de Boulogne is only for day time, but still then you need to watch your steps if you go into the woods and its littered with used condoms. Parc Des Buttes Chaumont is pretty. But, where else can you go to a pharmacy complaining of a sore throat and be offered a suppository?

Then I had to look out the window and check it was real. Ah think I am the only one who has really missed them :)

I went in Sunday lunchtime, shelves were empty, no lemons? No keen on new layout - although maybe i need to get used to it. It seems like the ranges of brand/choices has been reduced in favour of some odd selections like a whole shelf of tupperware products, when we already have shops selling that stuff. I won't be rushing back. Worse.

Have i missed the East Dulwich episode or has it not been shown yet?? -
but on the inside it had sainsbury style aisle markers. And all prices were quoted as sainsbury. But the wine section was not the layout of ours!

If you are prepared to travel in to the city most of the pubs/bars will do free hire as they do not normally open on the weekends. There are some really nice venues. A friend recently got an area at Village East on Bermondey st, with its own bar.

I'd love to grow some tomatoes on the window sill if possible - it gets the sun in the evenings. Are you able to recommend a brand of small tomatoes? thanks!

Hi Dean, Really sorry to hear this happen to you must have been pretty scarey. Glad you are ok and seemto be dealing with it well, but you must report it. The police round here have been really hepful in my experience, and it really won't take long at all to report so please reconsider. They may be able to track him from the bus stop or get him on CCTV. Sazzle

Ah thanks so much everyone for all these tips!!! I am going to get a big map and start drawing things on it! Good to know that its best to drive up from LA to SF as the travel agent had offered the other way round saying it was cheaper. We defo fancied seeing the grand canyon/Hoover Dam so I will look into the helicopter tours, I saw the coach tour takes 24 hours and you only get 2 hours there or something. Is there a particular car hire company which stands out as better than others? How safe did you feel in general and leaving things in the car?

Will do thanks!

Buying a house in East Dulwich? expect sealed bids!
sazzle replied to Pendragon's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I bought a few years ago and made offers on about 3 properties and all of them were blind bids. It might seem harsh but it does also avoid going back and forth and trying to outbid someone else. Like Karter said - make an offer that you are happy with and then see what happens. If you really want to buy round here then you just have to accept that's the way it is, difficult though it may seem. -
mattbrownis is right - the name is not so important if its a great pub :-) Scott if its a choice of calling it The Villager or The Towny, then lets stick with The Villager :)) Then we can be like the people in the film http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0368447/ I am looking forward to the opening! Saz

I agree The Villager is just an odd name? Is it too late to change the name? Scott - good luck with both projects, I look forward to visiting them :))

Warning: Unprovoked attack on Dog Kennel Hill (Sat 23rd)
sazzle replied to chicknic's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Goodness me you poor things, hope you are both recovering, and not taking it personally. What an absolutely ridiculous thing to do. What is wrong with kids nowadays they have so much anger? So glad you have reported it, hopefully they will be caught soon. -
