  1. Hi K, I live in a fairly new flat. My ground rent is ?100 a year and i think the freeholder can set this amount, but i would imagine this is just a minor part of your charge. My service charges are closer to ?1500 so it seems very reasonable. Might be worth checking if they have what is sometimes called a 'sinking fund' i think where excess on teh service charges goes into a pot to help pay for future works. Also worth checking if there are any works planned for the near future so you are prepared. Saz
  2. unfortunately there has been a fatality. A car has over turned outside the vale pub. my thoughts go out to those involved. There are police along the corden line. Which runs right up to sainsbury turn off. You can not cross the road until there. i dont know what time is happened i live close by and never heard sirens.
  3. In or next to Camelot travel there was a nail bar too. GBK was also dulwich brasserie at one point i think? Think Green & Blue was redgewells which then became locatelli italian restaurant which was always empty.
  4. GC was closed this evening when i came past 6.30ish. Nashoi - The Dark Horse has re-opened as Le Petit Parisien and looks v nice!
  5. Keef - I agree with you on this one. It starts to drag on a bit. As a documentary its fine but I can not understand why it was released in cinemas as if it was a film. Apart from making money of course!
  6. After a late night watching the MJ situation unfold last night i slept through my alarm this morning! Waited about 30 mins at ED station at 8am for a 40, no sign of them either way so decided to bus-hop my way to london bridge. It took about 1.5 hours which is way too long, a lot of buses that usually go across the bridge were terminating at elephant. Will also try the train next week. Longlad - thanks for the update useful to know there are problem from early on.
  7. If you hit that area about 8.30 the traffic can be at a standstill to the lights on the south side of the river by london bridge station. If you leave a bit earlier, maybe getting the bus about 7.30ish you usually miss the build up of traffic. The overall journey time is shorter as well at that time of the morning.
  8. I am right with you, I never eat in there any more. I have been 3 or 4 times and always wondered why I went back each time.
  9. Sounded like some kind of carnival rather than the cheering at a football match.
  10. Black Cherry used to do a good bacon sandwich. I had a franklins one a while ago and it was quite burnt and dry and painful to eat, things must have improved!
  11. I agree with the posts about the stock. I can't work out when to go, Saturday and Sunday are so busy, what with the shoppers and restackers blocking the aisles, i now avoid it. Mondays there is never anything in the fresh fruit and veg section - surely by now they would have worked out what stock they need more of and when to fill the shelves up? Late at night doesn't seem much better. Good luck Unkle_Paulie
  12. I like your idea especially about menus etc. Would be really useful to have all the takeaway menus on line i keep losing them! If a new website is lots of work maybe you might be allowed to add links on this site?
  13. The Hob in forest hill usually has an open mic type / new material night on Mondays its only ?3 looks like its on May 4th.
  14. Firezza gets my vote too, get the family meal deal its a bargain! they always say 45 mins but usually arrive before this :))
  15. rightmove Does this one belong to Linda? Think i recognise it from come dine with me!!
  16. There has been an accident looks like it involved a cyclist motobike and car. I hope everyone is ok. Prob worth avoiding area as traffic is backing up.
  17. I live in se22 and emailed asking why we never received se22 only to be told we were out of the catchment area for deliveries. I have recently started receiving SE15 magazine despite living in se22 and not being able to receive se22 magazine? Anyway having read the recent se22 and se15 i now realise they are both full of the same ads every month anyway so not really bothered anymore! I much prefer living south magazine but havent received it for a while either.
  18. I read in the paper that sainburys have bought some shops from co-op, so it could be another sainsburys? http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Business/Sainsburys-Buys-24-Stores-from-Co-op-in-83m-Expansion-Deal/Article/200903115234184?lpos=Business_Carousel_Region_3&lid=ARTICLE_15234184_Sainsburys_Buys_24_Stores_from_Co-op_in_%3F83m_Expansion_Deal
  19. Yes Anna_r - It was New Year's Day - She was so lucky someone could have squashed her head. The kids were everywhere!!! The food and service i had in the Dog were fine but we got there early.
  20. I agree with you Jimmy two times, last time i went in there i sat in the conservatory to get away from all the kids in the main area. Then most of the kids from the main area started running away from their families and into the conservatory screaming at ear piercing levels!! There were some really well behaved kids in there but they looked pretty sad to be sat in a pub to be honest. There was one little girl who was crawling all over the floor the poor waitress had to climb over her with several plates and the mum just watched and ignored... The little girl was then lying across the floor head down not moving, by the bar on the walk way to the back area. As the place was so busy people coming in had to step over her, only it got so busy people at the back of the queue didnt realise she was there and she got a kick in the head poor thing. The guy felt really bad as she started crying. So while there might be family orientated pubs, i think parents should stil be responsible for their children!
  21. My thoughts are with you heath i was burgled in June and its grim. How did they get in? Have you got london+birmingham bars on your door? I added them for extra security afterwards. Hope you feel better soon.
  22. Train to london bridge and tube is easiest - but i think the jubilee line is currently suspended. i would suggest the buses, or boat along thames from london bridge.
  23. i looked at a place up there about 18 months a go and at the time there was one bus i think the 63 or 363 to elephant and castle that went halfway up the road then turned on to underhill. I decided it was too isolated for me as i don't have a car and that if i was going to live that far up lordship lane i would rather live in forest hill and be closer to facilities. There are some gorgeous houses on that road and if i wasn't reliant on public transport i would see things differently.
