  1. Hi All Just to say a big thanks to all those who have bought tickets to the Fundraiser event organised by Sue and Nyge from the Goose is out. Tickets can be bought from the Goose website, and Healthmatters, Lordship Lane All proceeds will go to the Dulwich Community garden. As yet still no funding, only in kind support, and the project have already done so much. :)-D
  2. Lol Charlie, good idea, we need a form of slow movement at the moment, Life is getting a bit to fast for my liking. Edited to add, Do not forget we have the Goose is out fundraiser this Sunday at DHFC from 2pm onwards. All proceeds are donated to the garden fund. If you fancy a jig on a Sunday afternoon with your family, then get yourself along. Great raffle prizes, good food, lots of lovely cakes:)-D and of course the wonderful musicians who have donated their time for the Community garden. Community action rocks guys yay:)-D
  3. There are lots of rumours going around re the site, we (Dulwich Community Garden project) have nicknamed it 7 acres. I think the proposals are good. However It would be great to see an East Dulwich Community centre, (as we really dont have one, only various halls for hire.) With classes, workshops and a daycare centre for the elderly and disabled members of the community. I know Southwark Council may not want to/cannot fund the idea, however there are funders like the lottery who have funding aimed at projects like the one I have suggested above. Last I heard Guys had bought the land, however its just another rumour. Any further updates James?
  4. As a proud member of the East Dulwich community, I have been reading this thread, as and when I log on to the forum. This reminds me of the David and Goliath story, apologies If I am repeating, any of the other posters comments. However as a community, and we have built an amazing community, we (David) need to come together and fight, Goliath (Southwark council) Clearly there will always be a minority of the community who will want the CPZ, not surprisingly the minority live within the CPZ zone. However we live in a democratic society, and we have the freedom to have our opinions and ensure our opinions are heard. The overwhelming evidence, that the CPZ is not wanted or warranted by the ED community, and the ongoing subjective comments by James Barber leaves me with the desire to go to both meetings and make sure my voice and opinions are heard. I lived in a CPZ area, for 8 years, South Norwood. Now Croydon council who introduced the CPZ are trying to regenerate the South Norwood area, who's economy depleted not long after the CPZ was introduced. False economy springs to mind. So lets make sure our voices are heard at these meetings, details of the meetings can be found in the East Dulwich community notice boards, at East Dulwich Station and Norhcross Rd. By the way has anyone contacted South London press and Southwark news? Edited to correct typo.
  5. Thanks Charlie, Fennel is a Phyto-oestrogen, and it can regulate the appetite. It was used in the roman times, for digestive and sexual health. ;-)The Physic garden will have a theme, we are looking at themes at the moment. Keep you updated

Hi James Its just as well, I know how to use a calender. Hopefully Your colleagues at Dulwich Community council remember to add the CPZ discussion, to the agenda at January's meeting. I heard one of your colleagues would not hear any discussions re the CPZ at the last meeting. > > Hi Penguin68, > What sad national stats and direction they're > going in. > Let me try and find out - just pinged an email > trying to get this data for East Dulwich and South > Camberwell wards.

Hi James As far as I am aware, the consultation for the CPZ is ongoing, although the petitions were submitted, the posters were placed in the community notice board,to let the community know of the ongoing situation with the CPZ, because it is a fresh subject. And it shall remain fresh until further notice. Just for transparency, there will be new posters going in with someone else's contact details, and your contact details removed. You can understand why, your subjective manner towards wanting this to be implemented is apparent. We are both guardians of the community notice board, and I will ensure it contains fresh updated posters on the CPZ and other community news, that affects the community.
  17. I was walking past our community notice board this morning on Northcross Rd, and I noticed the posters we had put in Re the CPZ were gone. So I asked myself a little question, did I, in my sleep go down and take the posters down. No, I cant have, because its a community notice board, notifying the good folks of Dulwich what is happening. The community notice board is there for a reason. There are 2 key holders for the notice board, I am one, other key holder if you are reading this, can you please put the notices back up. Otherwise the good folks of ED will assume you really are pulling out all the stops to make sure this CPZ goes through. Some may think nobody reads the notice board, but believe me, people do. There are plenty more posters, and I will put them back in. :)-D
