  1. "Ah... by "out for so long"... do you mean out cold after the KO? Or out of action before the fight?" I meant out cold - I read on boxing news he's been unconscious for some minutes then went to hospital for monitoring, but his trainer had later confirmed his boxer was back on his feet and aware of his senses. Perhaps I'm confusing this with the Wilder fight (rd9 KO) ?
  2. Jes not sure where you are on this, was it not on Dave channel.
  3. I didn't know until today the opponent had been out for so long. Immediately after the contest on Dave channel (which mag have been a repeat last night as it was quite late) I switched off. This is exactly why mismatches are to be avoided / the guy has not got a history at world level like Haye so shame on the promoters for risking any boxer's health.
  4. Haye's a big puncher everyone knows it. Pointless fight though. What was meant to be gained by this match-up !
  5. you've no chance mate.
  6. Calm down Sue. I'm almost at work at 0630. So EDF usage can feature. It does happen ! I'll knock for you tomorrow morning, you can come with me and see for yourself ! The 0639 from ED stn to LB, we can do an old Watersons number on the way to town - I nominate Country Life "I like to rise when the sun she rises, early in the morning". Actually, forget the above, it is after all the irrational rage thread...
  7. Things are looking up. Middle aged now includes 84yr olds. Can't wait, and I'm still a youngster (now).
  8. if it went East --> West, it was probably a plane going to Heathrow and the wind took the sound away so you couldn't hear it. If the window was closed and is double-glazed, perhaps that accounts for any remaining sound you could have potentially heard. the 'skitter' could have been cloud cover, intermittently obscuring the aircraft lights.
  9. "What do you all think about children in pubs at night?" children in pubs at night is stoopid, they should be tucked, drinking cocoa, having stories read to them. obvs.
  10. At the local Indian restaurant... "...And would you like any bread with that order sir ?" "No, thanks" "Any Peshwari Nan, sir ?" "Is that bread ?" "Yes, sir" "No thanks" "Any roti, sir ?" "Is THAT bread ?" "Yes, sir" "No thanks" "Any poppadums, sir ?" "If I want anything, I'll be clear about that and will ask for it - thanks" "Would you like any chapatis, sir" "Is that bread ?" "Yes, sir" "No thanks. In fact, could you pass me back the menu please ?" "Yes, here, sir" *reading from the top, increasinGLY LOUDLY* "I also would NOT like any: onion bhajis, chicken pakora, prawn cocktail, 1/4 tandoori chicken starter, *EVEN LOUDER* sheek kebab, shami kebab, mulligatawny soup, *waiter looks around nervously* spring lamb chops, samosa, mango chutney, lime pickle, mint sauce, onion salad" "OK, OK, sir" "Do we understand each other ? I can continue, if absolutely necessary" "No sir, thank you sir"
  11. Trump is basically saying that he has a licence to make contentious and offensive statements because he is wealthy. And if you openly disagree with him, he will punish you financially if he can. Nice.
  12. It'll do you good young Foxy. The sleep thing will improve after a few days. Good luck.
  13. I've used Victoria Plumb before for bathroom stuff and IMO they offer exceptional service. Great firm.
  14. Try eBay for replacement set (and keep what you don't need now for spares) ?
  15. I think, though haven't calculated it, it means you increase each day's amount saved by one penny - starting with one penny on first day. Then 2p. Then 3p. Final day you're on ?3.65 Total they reckon is ?667.95 for 365 days.
  16. I read somewhere that UK has more world titles than the USA, I think followed by Japan. It's 'propa' world titles, not emeritus / silver / 'in waiting' (like the WBA does). If that's correct it's a testament to where UK is in Boxing right now, and well deserved too.
  17. TBH the Sainsbo's ones were OK heated-up. 8 for ?1.50 and they taste grand !

    NY parties??

NY eve over the CPT was a belter in the 90s, free entry (concept of paying to get in would have been just wrong !) and full of the usual characters. These days we either try and stay at home doing what Jeremy suggested, or pop around someone else's house party - which is the action for this year.
  19. Sue - a minor point, but Frozen is seriously not 'over' - I have very close and recent experience of this ! (and am sick to the gills of it, if I'm really honest).
  20. Yeah he had the look nailed before the blow-ins. That aside, it's great to see Escher's work within just a few mins walk from home. Enjoyed the exhibition and will be going again before it closes (April ?). Talented bastad.
  21. We won't be losing all of our curry houses because of outlet rental costs.
  22. I know at least one that owns outright, which makes my point exactly true. So, worst case, we're not necessarily gonna lose the entire curry house community. Which is a good thing, right ?
  23. Not all the curry houses (if any) rent their premises, many have been around since the time when ED high st commercial property was not exactly pricey.
  24. Oh Louisa, we have our cross to bear each of us, best we stride on, our chins up, an eye on the better place we know this world can be.
  25. Possibly reasonable aspirations in early posts, but nowt will actually change for 2016 or any other year. The slogans will continue to be used becUse they are cheap, easy and lazy to apply. I'm a confirmed racist, sexist, holocaust denier so far !
