Have you ever taken a company to the small claims court?
KidKruger replied to Alan Medic's topic in The Lounge
Stick to the facts, remove emotion as far as possible, remember that it's SMALL claims court so judge is not expecting barrister-quality delivery and as long as he can discern accurate facts/evidence and the calendar of events then he's half-way there. Summarise the key facts and bring your mountains of detail with you and make sure you know your way round it and can get to the detail quickly if required. How it will go depends on may factors, you may have significant wait/delay at Lambeth. -
Right-Clicking has helped me several times and each time has been a proper pleasure. Sorry to hear about such hard and persistently hard times, it's a tough one. I've seen the list of items for sale a few days ago, all at give-away prices, which must be hard to swallow .(unfortunately I have no space for new stuff). If I can think of some way to help I will be in touch.

So we're all agreed on the kind of opponent we think AJ should fight next. Regarding him being a great, there's obviously a lot of potential but I don't think anyone is actually calling him a great just yet. The comparisons against Mercer, Tyson, Spinks are all valid because they are just mathematical comparisons. i.e. (something like) AJ has got a world belt in less rounds than Leon Spinks, if that's what the record says then that's the fact. It doesn't mean (and I don't think anyone has said) that AJ is >= the greats. We've seen it all before with Audley, so let's see what happens. I thought he would lose last night so I'm certainly in Otta's camp regarding not getting our hopes up too soon, but I've not seen him declared best ever by anyone yet (and you have to ignore Hearn, because he's just a promoter and will say whatever is required to fill stadiums / sell PPV !!)

In my view AJ should fight level such as Takam, Pulev, Helenius, Haye (who after 2yrs out cannot be rated any higher). There's talk of him fighting Briggs, which would be a suitable level, also he could face Tony Thompson. Then he can go for the 1st-tier contenders, then the other belt holders - although he'd probably be OK with Lukas Browne right now. The PPV aspect of AJ's promotion is a total turn-off though, especially as it's already been PPV on his earlier contests.

Drill-out the rotten wood (should be easier than unrotten wood) and replace with new post Or Dig it all out (wrecker's bar will help) then pour concrete and set new post.

What should be stopped is having a fighter's camp / supporters join him in the ring before the contest starts and taunting / provoking the opponent, thereby upping the ante. There's no need for it, it causes bad feeling and it definitely influenced Eubank's behaviour in the ring with his 'told you so' posturing to Saunders and Fury.

I think it's a difficult call - as mentioned already, Blackwell was walking forward throwing punches and pressing the action while keeping his guard well up ('protect yourself at all times'), not the sign of a battered and beaten fighter. For the ref to stop the fight (even though Eubank Snr was demanding to the ref that the fight be stopped) would have seemed premature to most watching probably including the judges. I expected the fight to be stopped a round earlier or even two rounds earlier in the eighth, but I can understand the ref letting it roll until the left eye had swollen. This is one of the unfortunate situations where the ref probably wanted to stop the fight but needed a reason to do so that would not be criticised by everyone involved, including Blackwell himself. If anyone is looking to lay blame at all, perhaps Blackwell's corner ie. Gary Lockett could have done more to protect their fighter (from himself) because that's their key role. What makes fighters is they come to fight, but their team are responsible for holding them back when it's gone too far. Everyone was saying before the contest what a warrior Blackwell is and how his engine is so good and he never goes backwards. During the contest all commentators were saying repeatedly how Blackwell was very much still in the fight.

If it was hand-reared organic honey-smoked bacon in the hot-X buns I'd be all for it, but not that super-thin almost see-through cheap Iceland bought kinda bacon.
-
Wow MM, I did not know about this (and wonder why), thanks for the story.

Some of these greasy caf?s (esp. the cheapest ones) are serving highly processed food stuffs as meat ie. bacon, sausage so fill yourself up on it by all means, but you're poisoning your body. I love a greasy brekky myself, but now that the world has moved on and has better offerings I would always prefer such a meal in one of the non-greasy caf?s. Just to get a better product (in quality, taste). You owe it to yourself to not just pile shite down your throat because it's 'cheap'.

Yeah like LM I was frequently 'in command' in the house by 9 or 10. That included the odd evening out by my parents for (say) birthdays, weddings, NY eve. During these nights I was allowed mates over to stay (whose parents always assumed my parents were actually home). By 13 I was spending 3-6 days with house to myself while my Dad took the trawler down to the Bay of Biscay and back to get the catch in. never thought owt of it. However that's in the past and not necessarily applicable to nowadays, where IMO kids are not as exposed to 'the world' as I and my peers were years ago. To apply a broad brush to everyone is naive, but i see the need to try and do so, so parents have a steer. In reality it's so dependent on your personal circumstances, how long for, who the child is, confidence of child, behavioural history, how secure house is, whether you've a fire on, whether you've left your crack pipe out and if the kid will smoke your stash. So many things to consider. Personally I pop over to corner shop regularly even if the 8yr old is home. Have popped next door to party for 2hrs whilst kids watch a film, but they have access to next door through garden and can phone me and have front door key to come knock. But a whole night / several nights, no way.

I'll have some of what you're smoking foxy.

Foxy there's a local guy in nunhead I used for a few months last year. He has his own storage where he lives. He may not want to do the humping tho, so you may have to sort that yourself. I'll PM ya later.

"However E.D. Circa 1983 sounds wonderful. Sadly those days have long gone and the likes of which will never be seen in these parts again. I speak to a lot people who were around here at that time and many agree that most changes have not been for the better. " I feel for you Foxy mate, but what are you going to do about it ? ETA: Let's say you figured ot in 1993 (after 10 years) that "things just ain't no good no more". What have you been doing the subsequent 23 years, just complaining about it ? Surely there's other places you could move to with the same old charm you say ED had then ? Just sounds like you don't like it here in ED so you need to be elsewhere.

There's also the consideration of what they put in our water. They put stuff in our water to make us think the way they want us to think, so they can control us and take over. Though this is not specific to water meters, admittedly.
-
Anyone who's had a meter several years and can confirm their savings consistently over that period ?
-
Do they say the meter can be removed ? Or do they say you can revert to a flat rate - meter in situ still ?
-
Let's make everyone have water meters and see them consequently use less water - and watch the water companies' contentment in selling less water with lower profits. Sounds like a win-win all round. It's reassuring that water companies have our interests at heart by suggesting water meters will be saving us money, just when we thought those big corporations were money-grabbing monotliths. Good on those companies for their benevolence, how lucky are we ?!
-
Who's ever successfully had their water meter REMOVED after having it fitted ? One-way street I think ?
