  1. personally I would never touch Valium again, I had it prescribed years ago when I broke my back and I stopped taking it because I was becoming too far removed for what I regarded as the painful (my back) reality of reality. I needed relief from pain but not to be so detached from the world that I was not in it anymore. horses for courses tho.
  2. Ha ha XIX I was on that train too. About to depart then everyone started getting off the train - first stop Streatham. Ended up having to go FH. Shite lately.
  3. Problem with Dulwich Park is that everyone there thinks they have the god-given right to walk. Run, roller-skate, ride a horse, ride those stupid hire trike things, etc., whatever, over anyone else's right to do anything. More than any park I know - like people step up a notch in the up-their-own-arse stakes as they pass through the gates.
  4. Cool. Problem solved already. Is that before or after the two decking cancelled trains this eve that meant I have to travel instead via Foreat Hole ?!
  5. What a wank comment that does exactly what in the first sentence it denies that it is trying to do. Out of control ? Yeah I should have remembered that when the tosser left the gate open when it was too inconvenient for him to lean over and close the gate from his racing bike. And also I should have remembered it when the dog was hit by a car moments later. Out of control, yeah that's it. nice.
  6. Agree with XIX and Antant - yeah I was on that train fecking carnage and a 1/2 length train was out of order. It's sad to be wondering how I can seriously continue working in the City with transport like this, worse than over a decade ago. What's the point ?!
  7. As a dog owner I'd be against it mainly because it'd be yet another gate for twats to leave open even though it was bolted shut when they entered.
  8. any bright sparks able to explain to a simpleton like me how ED LB trains are affected by a Forest Hill/Sydenham sink-hole ? Aren't they completely separate lines ?
  9. a well-done bacon sarnie is also tasty and tangy with Tabasco sauce. Beats the red/brown sauces hands down IMO.
  10. I wonder what this sinkhole meant for remainder of this Eve's scheduled trains. And what it'll mean for tomorrow morning's trains from ED to LB.
  11. mustard only.
  12. I think the train unload/load takes a fraction longer than usual exactly because of the reduced service (greater contention for limited space delaying each departure, station after station). The advertised departure times possibly have not factored this in.
  13. I'd assume prices are tumbling in Euros ? If so that would possibly be to keep in line with the falling pound, if they don't do that the prices would appear to be increasing for UK buyers who're comparing the exchange rate.
  14. Now why might that be ?
  15. Fare strike - not a bad idea but many passengers probably need onwards travel from LB (like myself). If the entire passengers of each service could just silently occupy the LB platform silently for 10mins without speaking to any staff perhaps that would attract some attention at least (knowing my luck the platform probably isn't planned to be used for an hour and no-one would notice !).
  16. I've noticed that tomorrow's timetable doesn't have the 6.09 or 6.39 services any more. Not sure if they were stopped some time ago or their removal forms part of the latest timetable overhaul. Either way, it seems incredibly provincial to have a first service at 5 to seven when you're in zone 2 and 15 mins by train from London Bridge.
  17. Cheers Foxy. I sussed it out cos a friend who was playing there happened to call and I asked him. From my phone I couldn't see anything on the website ! It's a nice day there for anyone thinking about it - straight there on the 185 and some great Caribbean food.
  18. Anyone know which entrance (what roAd) is open for the Lewisham People's Day festival at Mountfield Park fest pls ? NO details on Lewisham people's day website !!
  19. Fact is this will continue unabated because it's easy to ignore / file emails. Until the affected passengers do something and get a profile this is it.
  20. I would be very interested in some kind of stand-in, sit-down or protest right in the face of the service reps to highlight this BS situation. I think it's a case of shouting loud enough collectively. This is worse than the service 25yrs ago.
  21. I just find it so sad that so many people (encouraged by the Leave campaign with 'justifications' and 'advantages') have done exactly the opposite of "get Britain 'back'". They've pissed on the country, just to pursue selfish obsessions around immigration or other xenophobic-based 'ideals', caring nothing for the younger people who've (well, had) their life ahead of them. Traitors the lot of them.
  22. yes, things were certainly put 'right' in the referendum, that's for sure. In the same way that you put a car on a bumpy road 'right', by veering swiftly off track and driving over a cliff in the dark. Excellent strategy. As long as you don't give two shits about the future of the country.
  23. JohnL didn't say the referendum was done via online voting. He was supposing the situation if on-line format was used for referenda on all issues. Unless I missed something.
  24. talk to old people, they will know. my neighbour opposite my house is 83 and remembers a whole different street from generations ago - and all the changes since.
  25. Virgin said it's a potential fault affecting 141 of 944 subscribers on my 'group' and that a dude will fix it in 4-5 hrs. Sounds like I been sold some lines. Baaaad timing.
