Yesterday I saw some pretentious twats walking around covered in those things, they call them 'clothes', it really gets my goat. Why can't they just walk around naked like normal people, hunting boar and bear to make a skin to wear when it gets colder in a couple of months ? Bastards.

No gravy is a kind of sauce. One made from a little fat from the meat, salt, pepper, perhaps some flour to thicken it and other flavourings as desired.

I've also noticed that (would you actually believe this) Co-Op AND M&S are selling bottles of water. Yes bottles. Just water. Water comes out of your taps at home, right ? It's probably just an ED (so far up their own arses) thing, but as the 23rd Century approaches it may catch-on and before you know it everywhere will be doing it. More money than sense, these over-privileged blow-ins. ETA: Why does "b l o w - i n s" get auto-translated to "@#$%&" ?

I've bought the odd bag of ice before at Co-Op, usually for parties, BBQs or cocktail evenings - basically whenever I need a fair amount of ice. I've also had ice delivered by an ice company based in Camberwell, when I need like 20kg of ice for a beer tub. Making such an amount in fiddly ice cube trays takes too long and is too much hassle. Any ice I make in the freezer is using sealed sandwich bags filled with water and frozen, then when I need it I unwrap it and smash it up. Ice is cheap, so hardly a significant waste of money to buy 3-4 kilo bags for like ?1-2.

Because they're bent as a nine bob note, obvs. They can be paid off if it's done the right way, come on. There's a certain developer around crystal palace road area who does what he wants, regardless of what local residents voice as concerns. He uses very clever approach to the loopholes and foibles of the planning application process, one example being when he 'submits an application' he sends the cheque to the correct fees dept and SAYS he's sent the actual application to the relevant dept (or says he sent each package separately to same dept). After a while he starts building / alterations, when people start complaining to council he says well the chq got cashed so I thought that meant I had permission agreed, I never received a Refusal letter (which you wouldn't if you'd not submitted an application, but he argues he did and that Southwark must have lost it which is not his fault). Of course he never sends the application and he never gets forced to undo his building works.

Compensation goes nowhere towards fixing the missed meetings, deadlines, presence in workplace that is being messed-up by Southern. It's a great gesture though and I'm sure the odd ?50 or so rebate per week will satisfy some customers, but not most. We're here for trains, not ?2.67 against a train that's a fecking hour late or has reduced no. of carriages leaving passengers stranded at the station. -

How many carriages formed today's 0830 train ? -
I eat mine from one end to the other. If it was the size of (say) a car, I'd consider breaking the croissant up, but as it's just the size of a croissant there's no need - and it's not heavy so there'd be no weight/effort saving advantage. I think the kids have this one right.

She wouldn't stall for nothing, so expect the worst. When I say worst I mean worst, as in worst, or 'worst means worst'.

I'm talking to Southern now about reduced carriages on the 0830 and why we can't get notice (ie. an announcement before train turns up / note on journey planner about short-form train) that the train is 4x carriages only. I said I need to know the size of train BEFORE it gets to ED, not wait until it arrives. 1. I was told my query will be forwarded to the relevant team at the END OF SEPTEMBER. After that the period of time / ETA is undefined. 2. There will be NO response to my query from the 'relevant team', it will be 'dealt with', but responses are not provided. 3. Southern apparently don't know themselves how many carriages are on a train and telephonist said that holds even when the train has left the departing station ! (Obviously that cannot be true, they must know how many carriages are leaving a station on a particular train). 4. Southern will not be announcing the train length to passengers waiting up the line (this I find really out of order). Southern say passengers will have to 'wait and see'. 5. If passengers are not confident with the 0830 service they need to consider alternative transport or an earlier train. -

"Four carriages only on the 08.30. Useless." Anybody know what telno. to call and ask about this pls ? I want to try and figure how no. of carriages can be established before train gets here - to save pointless waiting for a train you can't get on. ! -
I walked past the other day and noticed the lady at the desk is the same lady who used to run the greasy cafe on the same site (used to be the two shop premises together - huge cafe) like 20yrs ago. From memory she was Cypriot and ran a fine greasy cafe !

I heard about the 0830 this morning. What a complete joke. They could at least warn passengers via the station tannoy - they will know by the night before where all their carriages are and what services they can satisfy. Twats. -
Only definite place I can think of is Stanfords, Covent Garden. You can call and check they stock what you need. Not local but one of best map shops in UK.

Property Management Company - also Freehold Company Secretary
KidKruger replied to Jules-and-Boo's topic in The Lounge
Perhaps you can give a letter to each tenant saying there is a potential issue with the mean tenancy of the overall property (which ultimately is going to affect them ), asking them to pass it to their landlord because the management co are not willing to help. This may identify a few of the landlords. -
sorry to hear about this it sounds horrible. borrow a phone/device that does record, OR call someone when he is abusing you so the other person can witness it, OR just end the relationship if he's verbally abusing you - you don't need to spend time proving it to him.

No I don't agree, I'm merely pointing out my surprise that having availed of the opportunity themselves already they'd deny it to someone else so soon. As opposed to most of my extended family who voted out simply cos they don't like foreigners. Anyone's allowed any opinion that's obvious to me and I hope it is to you, there's two different opinions listed above.
-
I have several Indian immigrants working for me, they all voted OUT primarily because they didn't want their children's chances of doing well in the UK being diluted through further immigration and therefore competition (which I was amazed at).
