  1. When is construction supposed to start on this land ? Is there a need to rush removing the travellers ?
  2. Let's see how much they say was stolen versus how much was actually stolen.
  3. "William Rose building was once the pine furniture shop run by the late Trevor who later worked at Bells I think." Oh I didn't know Trevor had passed away, that's really sad to hear, very friendly guy - and such a hard worker. RIP. Any story to that ? i.e. was it an accident or was he poorly for some time ? I probably haven't seen him around Bell's for a couple of years.
  4. Will keep that in mind Jesser, have been meaning to go there for a while - mainly based on your comments.
  5. I would refuse to take off the first shoe until I've tried both on at same time. You have to walk up and down the aisle to be confident the pair of shoes works for your feet. They have a security guard by the door at all times, they can shout to him to be on guard when a pair of shoes is being tried on.
  6. Silk Road obviously. I've heard Wuli Wuli highly recommended by several people on here too.
  7. Oh, you mean Vladimir Klitschko, yes actually - he's hoping to fight Anthony Joshua for the WBA/WBO titles possibly in November. Numsay.
  8. So Tyson Fury appears to be in danger of losing his titles - because of a positive drug test for cocaine. Hopefully this will sway the WBO/WBA into agreeing to put up the titles asap for contention between Joshua/Klitschko.
  9. If you've got a film to make in 2 days (which is tight to say the least) then surely you know already the storyline, who's playing what parts and what the setting for each scene is. If so, doesn't that define the locations you need to film at ? If so, doesn't just asking for 'locations' leave you in a bit of a fix, because you may get random offers that don't fit your script. Or is it an unscripted / unplanned / open filming process with no confirmed sequence or pattern ? I'm no film expert (so feel free to shoot me down).
  10. So that's sorted. Which newsagent is going to be Subway, the one next to Surma ?
  11. Check the menu prices on their website. WYLMTGTFY ?
  12. Wouldn't expect it to be because radiators need bleeding.
  13. PR fair point but it's not perfectly round, or at least it wasn't when I found it ! I've managed to get it a bit nearer true round which is why it may look passable from the side view you can see in the photo.
  14. Jesus. Then what the feck were they doing before the internet !?
  15. OK, so there rules and operator's obligations, but outside that it's open season as far as I can tell. We may not like it and it may irritate us, but that's tough. I do have an interest in this because I sense we will see (the greater London area) a huge increase in folks living in large camper vans / converted vehicles as the cost of accommodation is so expensive that renters cannot save to buy. I'm all for it as it's a logical solution for those not wanting to be forced out to the further suburbs/provinces to commute in.
  16. Lila's (Jeweller on LL) kindly confirmed it's pewter.
  17. yeah but it's not down to what we prefer is it ? If it's illegal or dangerous then fair enough, it can't park there. Otherwise it's fair game, no ? Also we need to keep it real. Where around here has "a double decker bus parked for weeks", or "lorry company had half a dozen artics....to stash somewhere" actually occurred ?!! I'd say not at all, and, surprisingly, there's also been no rocket launchers, submarines or SNR1 model hovercrafts parked around here either, whether in units or "half a dozen"s. All your extreme examples just don't happen, so why posture them ?! I'm aware of no bye-laws about where larger vehicles cannot be parked, at least as far as residential ED goes and notwithstanding safety / highway code rulebook. If someone parks a larger vehicle outside your house for a few days and as you allege 'block your light' (sniggers down sleeve) I think it's just tough luck isn't it ? You seriously think your kids will get scurvy and your indoor plants will die as a result ?! The curtain-twitchometer is heading off the scale here me thinks !!
  18. I can understand dangerous parking being an issue, but after that surely ANY vehicle should be able to park wherever they want without being stalked by locals - don't you agree ?
  19. Everywhere is being developed / extended and so it should be with so much potential laying in original layout houses and such a shortage of properties available overall. The precedent was set decades ago. The Govt has set things up so that's the way tax works.
  20. basically pour some spirits of salts down a blocked sink drain and leave it for a couple of hours. It's 37% hydrochloric acid and a lot cheaper than plumbers (@ ?5 per litre on LL DIY store). Burns away anything organic, so hair/fur will be easy work. Wear gloves / goggles cos this stuff does what it says on the bottle. After a couple of hrs wash away with tap and cleans sink with gloves on.
  21. Once I've cleaned my one up in will show as either silver or pewter I believe. Of course, the 'EW' mark may also be a foreign maker. I may try US/European makers when I have a mo. Either way, good find by the lad (who also found an amazing bottle 1710-1730, according to MOL, a couple of years ago).
  22. That's a good point actually, only one of my kids enjoys when we go to a curry house - the others don't really like it so much. So a F&C / burger option is a potential win, hadn't thought of that. Cheers !
  23. Yes I agree it's a porringer, which I'd never heard of before Saffron's post (thanks Saffron). The maker's mark I have doesn't match the one for Edward Wakelin but thanks Foxy. Well I guess that's the question answered, now I know what it is there's loads of similar examples on www, based on which date could be a couple or more hundred years old and if I get to bottom of it I will post here to sdvise.
  24. I would, IF he'd said "Twenty"...
