  1. Yorkshire tea is ace. I didn't know it's grown under ground though, especially under Dewsbury. Halifax I could believe (with Calder river water perhaps), but not blerdy Dewsbury.
  2. Anne Widecombe had that effect on me too, sharp as a pin.
  3. Yeah I came home via FH too tonight, the 1808 was 'delayed' until about 1830 when they 'cancelled' it
  4. The trains from LB to ED are Southern, right ? What about the Denmark Hill to Victoria service ?
  5. Reckon mess tonight from LB
  6. Look. I'm sold, OK. For ?5.50 even a naysayer like me is in. Happy Xmas etc.
  7. That's well cheap, I'll head down there later.
  8. any info on trains back from London Bridge to east Dulwich will be appreciated - are they running, any news on later this eve ? The nat rail enquiries website seems to say every 15 mins but I don't know whether that's old information they've not bothered to update / the timings listed are automatically invalid due to 'Industrial Action' banner at top of page.
  9. What Jah said.
  10. Well the answer's still 'No', regardless of how traditional / customary (yawn) it is. Sue - yeah it was a miserable post, but I'll stick with it for now !
  11. Yeah yeah I get it I get it OK. The point is many people spend crazy money this time of year and don't know why, they just do it because "it's done". They don't "just google it" or have any idea why their doing it, this is probably one of the only times I'll ever align, even partially, with grok. "seasonal, hospitable, welcoming, represents the season" - nice slogan but total piffle IMO. Anyway Happy Xmaaaaaaas ! (Oops, used a greeting which should have been a pre-pagan, mid-dark ages, post-gobbledegook expression of fuckwittery)
  12. ?65 to celebrate the birth of a ju-ju man in the sky, a made-up God, a superstory of fables and exaggerations, all because of indoctrination and "this is what we do" ?? NO thanks.
  13. Thanks Cordelia. Yeah trains were not as packed as usual for some reason.
  14. Are the trains from Denmark Hill to Victoria affected ?
  15. I buy weekly travelcards so does that mean I won't be able to claim because they'll say I could have caught the bus ?
  16. I think possession of the bike would lead police to culprit responsible for knifepoint robbery, so it ma have been taken to render victim less mobile.
  17. what about those of us who've been buying weekly tickets throughout the whole mess ?!
  18. I guess they're thinking that if you pay for the food in advance then they've lost the opportunity to harvest the service that would 'normally' come at the end of the meal/party. you could argue that service has not occurred yet, but the food hasn't been served yet either and you've paid for that.
  19. would appreciate chatting (either via forum or by phone) with anyone who's on/done this course, mainly around entrance material and content/feel of the course. Yes I've checked the website but they doesn't always tell the accurate story. An initial PM please and I'll follow up from there.
  20. Apart from Sunday as per rememberwhen
  21. 8-8 7 days a week
  22. This change in tax law is aimed not at benefitting tenants, first time buyers, those renting but unable to buy, or landlords - but simply to increase money to the ex-chequer. Impacts on anyone affected are entirely irrelevant and merely a consequence. The Govt is broke and is closing every loophole it can to screw every penny out of the population and businesses, if the Govt was flush this measure wouldn't even be on the horizon, there's no 'fairness' angle intended.
  23. I mentioned this in the irrational rage thread. Next they'll be removing seats to install advertising hoarding. Basically if you got luggage, whack it on the paper crates and bugger them.
