  1. Like I say, if Temporary, give them space. World?s apart from ?it doesn?t matter? (I haven?t seen anyone use those words, only you), right ?
  2. To be fair, if a builder is blocking the pavement temporarily to complete a task it?s reasonable that he gets left to it - especially if he?s using heavy tools, machine tools, or materials that may splash, like cement and paint. It?s often less hassle to cross the road with a pram than it is for a builder to stop his task, mind his tools, clear a path, then start all over. Obvs pavements are a right of way, but sometimes an objective approach is needed rather than just obsessing on ?rights?, especially when it?s a temporary situation. rachp Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yes, I spoke to a builder on my road last week as > there was barely room to get a small pushchair > through, let alone a wheelchair. 3. Excellent news !! Must have been horribly stressful not knowing how this would turn out.
  4. Builders near me have spent the last three weeks rinsing the cement buckets and tools down the nearest street drain, I fully expect a drain blockage when the weather gets wetter !
  5. He needs to be. So he can see the hassle he?s causing. And not be surprised when he?s collared.
  6. It?s a fun vid, but our local culprit has earned something a bit stronger than a glitter coat.
  7. Agree - too pricey. In the summer I wanted some chino/jean shorts for working in garden / on house, ?25 in the large St. Christopher?s, ?4.50 in Mind shop !
  8. In that case I?ll supply a plastic bag. Meet you in the alley.
  9. This perpetual theme though, about 2 (then 3!) million pound houses, several cars, holiday homes, etc. does distract from the important points being made about the unfairness of these LTNs. Unless one knows all those residents personally, has checked Zoopla for prior house sale prices, and checked with DVLA the vehicle ownership for each house, there?s no basis for such gross generalisations. It?d be perhaps less verbose and more accurate to just say ?wealthy people? or ?wealthier than me?.
  10. What about it ?! cidolphus Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > KidKruger Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > first mate Wrote: > > > -------------------------------------------------- > > > ----- > > > Of course, anyone concerned about polluting > the > > > environment will be against all fireworks on > > > principle. > > > > > > Yeah. > > Just like anyone genuinely concerned about the > > environment will reduce how many showers they > > waste, never waste food, stop buying new goods, > > consume less product overall, turn veggie and > not > > use their heating system. > > KK, what about limiting population growth?
  11. first mate Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Of course, anyone concerned about polluting the > environment will be against all fireworks on > principle. Yeah. Just like anyone genuinely concerned about the environment will reduce how many showers they waste, never waste food, stop buying new goods, consume less product overall, turn veggie and not use their heating system.
  12. 111 warned me that the appt time was a ?turn up? time. But I must have been naive not thinking it could be as long as 3.5hrs?
  13. Needed asthma inhalers top-up. Couldn?t get auto prescription renewal because this was a re-emergence of asthma. DMC wouldn?t see me / when waiting in line on phone I kept getting dropped when almost at top of queue. So I couldn?t get an appt, dialled 111 who arranged an appt for me at Beckenham Beacon centre, got there and (I had to actually ask) was told 3.5hrs waiting time. The waiting room wasn?t that big and people not very far apart, so I left after 10mins as didn?t feel safe. Kindness of EDF sorted me in the end. Complete joke.
  14. I think what he does is make sure it looks like he?s delivering a parcel, which is the previous box he?s stolen. Probably starts off the day with an empty box, then just moves each stolen box to the next victim, once he?s taken the contents if he wants them. Would be interesting to see how far the trail goes, good evidence for when he?s nabbed. 15. Drop in the ocean ken, this guy can only steal what he can carry in his rucksack / on his bike and the shops (if you mean online suppliers) are very many.
  16. Alx - what street ?
  17. Saw him again today on CP Rd around 1230pm cycling past Great Exhibition pub heading southwards, checking all doorways both sides, then turned into Pellatt.
  18. Google the recipe natty. Try Delia Smith?s recipe.
  19. Well you make it from the pumpkin yourself.
  20. The 20mph limit is a joke to most drivers, even on the side/residential roads. And don?t get me started on EDR by Goose Green, plenty of cars do 40+, and motorbikes 50+.
  21. I wondered there was a double-decker bus struggling to go from Barry Rd - Silvester Rd - CP Rd - Whateley Rd !! That and other large vehicles caused chaos in the side streets !

    COP 26

Best get the shorts and flip-flops out ready then !
  23. Crystal Palace Rd is now a HTN, at least compared to what it was like before the LTNs were implemented. It?s not just the volume of cars which is startling, it?s the panic/urgency/desperation of drivers? behaviour which has increased. I guess with Lordship Lane rammed nowadays, other routes are sought to enable them to feel like they?re making some sort of progress in their journeys. Just a matter of time before a serious injury or worse, seems inevitable - you can?t have so much stressed traffic through an entirely residential street without an eventual accident involving pedestrians or a cyclist. Let?s Trade Neighbourhoods.
