  1. Mine's ok - basic package though.
  2. If you're struggling to stand or need help on a train I'd suggest asking if someone will give up their seat for you, its not unsolvable and other passengers aren't all total uncaring bastards. Just ask, it's silly not see this as an obvious option !
  3. A crafty ?10er, as long as it's someone else's. Witter lost at York Hall last night in a total bore fest apparently.
  4. of course there's no creator, that's a weak human view to suit weak human insecurities.
  5. any idea when conclusion will be (scheduled to be) reached ?
  6. damn ! how utterly pointless - why perpetuate the split between North/South London transportation !!??
  7. Seems extremely weird that a dead man's inheritance can be divvied-up according to compensation claims yet to be decided. This means that when I die, until my finances have been distributed as per my will, any claims against me that a court believes could result in the assets (if there are any, not a guarantee at all) being shared amongst the wronged ones ? What portion of the assets can be set aside to wronged ones ? 100 ? What about the beneficiaries of the will ? Just seems a bit weird. And NO, I am not condoning Jimmy's actions !!
  8. Yeah, let's see Cleverly in with Shumenov (one of my faves) who he reckons he "offered a fight too but got no reply", although Shumenov's team have no records of any offers being made to them ! At Light-Heavy I'd like to see Andre Ward fight Cleverly, what a humbling experience that would be for Nathan. Ward had campaigned in the amateurs at LH I believe, so could make the weight no problem. Vladimir Klitschko fights Marius Wacz (?) next Saturday - first time in 64 fights he's faced someone bigger than him. Wacz has a good right hand but at 27-0 has less than half of Vlad's experience. There's a chance Vlad could get caught here and he does go down, so may worth a crafty ?10er on Marius.
  9. Any cat that doesn't know that on the other side of the back door is the garden (or from the outside, the kitchen) is thick. If the cat has been let out/in at all he presumably will have usually been let out through same door for ages before the catflap is installed. Putting a catflap in the door doesn't recreate what's on either side of the door, it's not Narnia !! Any cat that can't suss this out, needs to go straight to a rescue centre, unless it's known for mental health issues. BTW - "Would you want to stick your head through a hole in what would normally be a solid structure": yes I would want to actually. Doors are 'human flaps' are they not ? And we spend a lot of time going through them, vene when we're not entirely sure where they go.
  10. Medley - thanks for that, really helpful. Good news then, is the DH to St P line looks unaffected - hurrah !!
  11. First try and reason with them, they be genuinely unaware and keen to make amends. Then a couple of polite reminders. Then Southwark - weird how they only come out until 2.30am though !!
  12. the world would just get on
  13. Noooo waaaaaay !! What for ? Normally we use the expression "who's left to fight ?" to mean your man has cleaned-out the division, not lost to everyone in it !!
  14. Tomorrow Junior Witter is fighting Frankie Gavin for (I think) the British WW title. Always thought he was a bit of a magician in the ring. He's 34 or so now so may struggle to keep up with Gavin who's ridiculously naturally talented. I'd love to see Junior get back into world title contetntion but unfortunately I think it's asking too much.
  15. The cats know exactly how to use a cat flap and how it works, but they'd rather see you open the door for them. The starving strategy is the correct one - works every time !
  16. "Yes - why do you think the service is going to end?" I thought there was talk about the service being curtailed / reduced / only going as far Blackfriars.
  17. I dont change at BF, the train goes DH to St P. If I didn't write it then I'm not saying it !
  18. ED to St Pancras in about 40 mins is pretty good and I put up with the odd delay by not getting the absolute last possible train - it's a decent service IMO even though a couple of wrinkles could do with ironing-out. Make the most of it - we may soon wish this service still existed !!
  19. 'fraid not.
  20. Shame to hear that Emanuel Steward has passed, legendary boxing trainer working for 50 years and actually looked pretty in-shape until very recently, quite surprised to hear that after being taken ill a few weeks ago he's gone. I guess he was in his sixties but it seems early. He trained Hearns, Lennox and (at least one of) the Klitschkos. RIP
  21. porn links that don't work.
  22. Any attempt at comparison is futile, NC market is NOT trying to compete with Rye Lane and Brixton etc ! It's like slagging off the NC market popcorn stall because it costs more than Co-Op's popcorn, non-sensical, NOT trying to be a Co-Op is it !? Rye Lane 'market' doesn't sell antiques, art work, fudge, gourmet hotdogs, home-made quality pies, 2nd hand books, vintage clothes, bike repairs. Pointless, ill-conceived comparison IMO.
  23. this has been mentioned on other specific threads, twice that i can remember, must be a real PITA.
  24. What Peckhamrye said.
