  1. Great Mantra - but someone needs to point out he's not running the O2. BTW: did he also want 30% of all merchandising sales ?
  2. hopefully if residents think ED is so great they won't need to resort to drugs to get through their lives.
  3. Sue, that's bollox, they will lose more money than they will ever make with that policy, total lunacy. Otta, meant to say previously, couldn't make the Herne Hill gig the other week, but got home very late that night and listened to the links you'd provided - f*cking brilliant. Gutted I missed it, hope it went well.
  4. Nothing wrong with those locations, in fact I was at a old-time/flatfoot session last night in Homerton (Hackney), but could have done without the public transport journey back. Compared to 15 years ago I think it's brilliant we have local music events, and is probably one big reason I didn't leave SE22. I prefer to have a local option for live music, in addition to the usual more central listings.
  5. halal does not indicate free range, it's purely the slaughter method. free range would have to be specified in addition, it is not implied by use of word halal.
  6. I wondered exactly WHAT human rights were.
  7. I could do 2-3 mins for like ?2.50, no more than 2 bookings a week.
  8. NOTHING wrong with banjos ACTUALLY. Bascom Lamar Lunsford Hobart Smith Doc Watson Gaither Carlton Roscoe Holcomb Don Stover Ola Belle Reid Frank Proffitt Dock Boggs Wade Ward
  9. oh, crack.
  10. speed bomb ?
  11. Gulp.. Well she sure looked a lady when I came across her by accident a few weeks ago in that bar, having popped-in for a quiet one. What they DO seem to do at GE is have DJs and live music that's usually intended to NOT extinguish communication betwen patrons. I'm not used to that but it's a nice change.
  12. So Charlotte, given the option of a billion pounds YES or NO, you'd say NO - right ? Most people with a billion have earned it I'd wager. Good luck to them. Why look at extremes anyway, all of us (just by living in the West) are guilty of obscene waste, consumerism and materialism - therefore having more than we NEED. Pointing at someone because they have more than you doesn't get you off the hook I'm afraid. It's a bit like the cat calling the dog 'hairy arse'.
  13. they've got a lady playing ukelele there on Thursday with a dude playing beatbox in the background.
  14. Slim was never a Lord as far as I know, Viscount and Knight of the Garter he did receive though. I know a little about the Field Marshal because my Grandfather served under him in Burma.
  15. sheep mentality
  16. We'd but just as badly off in a power cut though, cos then we'd be burning candles, and they flicker too.
  17. "How would you answer the critics who label it a poor man's West Dulwich, treehugs?" poor in what respect !? What has WD got that ED hasn't ????????/ SFA.
  18. Saw this low low yellow moon reflected in the sea when sailing off the Isle of Wight last night, looked fantastic, wish I'd had a camera to catch the moon and it's reflection - was amazing.
  19. I like it there for beers pizza pool, been challenged there though on 2x different occasions. Once by some big, grey-haired wine-drinking tit who couldn't back it up. Another by some chav shaven-headed tradesman - that time I got a cab home sharpish ! Still go though, pizza too good to avoid.
  20. I guess the perhaps unique thing here is that it was a kind of "am I good enough or not ?" experiment, made possible by the popularity of Hatton. There was certainly no obvious mismatch.
  21. Mad cow disease. Expectation that the state pays you money while you don't work.
  22. the more i think about this and the more I read/hear Hatton's comments I wonder if there is a bit of a a selfish thing going on, all the talk seems to be about 'my redemption', 'I wanted to see what I have left', 'I was in a hole before what with drugs and thoughts of suicide, so i needed a mission'. That's all fine, but the Big Experiment cost a lot of people a lot of money. Hatton's popularity made the big crowd possible but I wonder if the p!ss has been taken slightly. Don't get me wrong, I've followed Hatton for 10 years - since before the Tszyu contest, but there's a lot of me me me about this which I'm not sure I appreciate.
  23. Thanks, but not into water sports myself.
  24. Does he agree he has your goods (and does he agree what the list of goods is). Does he agree he promised you a certain amount ? Ask him. If he does agree, ask for your money or goods. If he refuses/makes further excuses say you'll proceed now through small claims court. Be polite. But make sure you have someone with you who is not related / your partner, to 'witness', they don't need to be stood beside you, they could have happened to stroll-up previously and be browsing at the time you approach the shopkeeper... Personally I would record it, given the circumstances, but that's probably not recommended by most. I've used recorded phone calls in court to counter lies, even though I had no permission to record from the opponent. Nothing quite like the recording demonstrating the complete opposite of what the liar is saying, very humbling for the liar - the arrogance suddenly diminishes and the court's patience with them starts to wane.
  25. If you have been threatened physical violence call the police. And do not pay the bill. No court in the land would expect you to pay for a dining experience where not only is the food dire and service bad, but you also feared physical attack.
