So...big picture > is much more worrying than the convenience > benefits. Not sure I see how it hands control to the state? All of the payment backbone is run by private companies? If anything cashless is less controlled by the state?
  8. How much do you get paid for a survey? do they work on mobile phones? could be a useful way to commute
  9. so they look like Christmas baubles.......
  10. Our poor little cat has just been diagnosed with Renal Lymphoma, and is starting chemo. Has anyone had any experience with this/
  11. Cheers Seabag - useful input. I'd counter that you commenting on a thread about something you disdain would mean that maybve you need to get a grip. In any case, merry xmas to you and yours.
  12. Thanks Fox....not quite what I meant....think melon balls.
  13. I get bored with standard veggies at xmas, I had the idea of making balls of carrot and swede and was planning on using a melon baller. Do you reckon this is possible? would i be better off softening them up first? I then want to finish them off with butter and star anise and don't want them to go to mush...
  14. we've quite enjoyed booking a table at the restaurant opposite CPP and watch the display from there the last couple of years.
  15. Anyone heard of or used this before to try and work out the babies sex before the 20 week scan? I can't even make out what the nub part is?
  16. I'm not sure I get why 4x4's SUV's get such a bad rap? Certainly if you are buying new then the green credentials are as good as most saloons...
  17. Any twitchers know what a Godwit would be doing round here? Unfortunately dead, small amount of blood from the long beak but no other marks.
  18. Along very similar lines to the OP I will be too.....but down in Worthing with some of the family. Where can I buy seriously massive fireworks?
  19. i can't offer any insight other than experience of one of my best friends. Didn't quite get his degree due to being young and stupid (in terms of decisions). He then went and taught TEFL in China. Is now global head of Marketing for an apps dev company and has millions in personal wealth. Native english speakers attract a massively high premium in china and if you are willing and able you will go far.
  20. I'll add vinegar to most things. Steaming hot chicken pie with vinegar on the pastry cuts through the creamy sauce nicely. Branston Pickle with a fry up.......
  21. I had 8(!) interviews for Microsoft, then waited 3 months to get the budget approved for my role. Got made redundant 10 months later. Then was told I was going to be offered a job at Oracle - 9 months later the formal offer came in.
  22. I've just moved over to Sky - was super impressed by the TV set installation and set up - not so much the broadband as that was by Openreach. Fairly happy so far with the service,
