  1. Oh, and 50
  2. What's u supermarket?
  3. Genuinely pretty scary - you can only hope that should he get in, the legislative process will strangle the craziest of his ideas.
  4. @Louisa - all sounds very sensible - I much prefer reading your posts that offer solutions ~(personal preference)......are you doing anything to push this cause? Involved in any movement or charities? Please don't feel I am singling you out, more a comment on what this forum has. Lot's of people with clearly very strong and in most cases, well informed, opinions. They all count for nowt if you don't do anything about things you feel strongly about.
  5. they should be able to do it on the scaffolding. If you really get no movement you could bodge a repair by joining all of the same colours in some connector block and covering it in insulating tape.
  6. Louisa - suggest some solutions.....you have such strong views on things that I would be genuinely interested to hear what you would do differently.
  7. pure ignorance here, but, can you burn smokeless coal on an open fire?
  8. I struggle to think of any oligarchs living in Dulwich.... I guess my point is, is it really THAT bad. It sucks that most people can't afford to buy here, I'm one of them. But that seems to be more of the time, than of London boroughs
  9. Do you think it could be a micro version of the debate going on about immigration into the UK. You want to keep Dulwich for local Dulwich people. Control who can and cannot live here? The council should be doing more to keep Dulwich for Dulwich.......
  10. Interesting. SO another tangible issue, I'm assuming, is the rise in commercial rents. On way around this would be to legislate that rentals must be linked to the value of the property but this has happened at a time of incredible rises in property prices, in London as a whole. Sort of takes me back to my first point - that the originals, sold up and moved away..... it's really tricky to find an answer to that particular problem. What other tangible issues do you see?
  11. agree, Not asking for all the answers - just want to be more explicit with the problems . From above I'm assuming you think the types of shops coming in should be more carefully considered? I guess I would tend to agree with you but playing devils advocate - if these businesses are coming in and not being used by locals how are they in business? I would argue that people travelling to shop are going to out of town centres (Bluewater, Westfield etc) rather than travelling to Brixton or Dulwich? In your opinion, is the demographic in Brixton staying the same, whereas here in Dulwich it's changing a lot?
  12. Just how I read it......nothing selective but happy to admit I may have read it wrong.
  13. Criticise Bromley for sameness in one message and then say you spend most of your time there?
  14. They can't just forcibly buy these houses however......the originals must sell and no doubt, make a tidy profit. I wonder if the communities they move to, label them as blow ins and blame them for changing the face of the neighbourhood. Snobbery either way is tedious and unnecessary. In tangible terms what is actually wrong with the changes.....let's discuss those because I'm sure there are solutions to them.
  15. When replacing the tyres on a car should you do all 4 at once? I've got an Audi A4 Cabriolet if that makes any difference?
  16. San Sebasti?n. Just incredible, really cost effective as well.
  17. I would imagine they shouldn't - but some might - it's the sort of job you could do yourself though if you know which fuse it is on.
  18. Does insurance cover wheel theft?
  19. Genuinely, I thought it was all set to be an M and S? has that changed? Sorry I haven't kept up with the other thread
  20. I think i got some at sainsbury's
  21. I should have been clearer 3 or 4 times the cost of the meal. This is to account for all other costs......
  22. Deliveroo target restaurants that don't offer delivery services. For the restaurants its just incremental revenue....deliveroo will eat into their margin but most restaurants charge at least 3 or 4 x cost so there is plenty to play with.
  23. Have an excllent chimney sweep who i use that i can recommend....Pm me if you'd like his details.
  24. I'm appealing that the ticket is unenforceable
  25. Using MSE templates I have appealed. I am confident I will win.
