  1. They're looked at and we'll assist the authorities should they request our help.
  2. Yes, it's an annoying thing that's happened since the server upgrade. The page does seem to work, it's just the content in there doesn't (if that makes sense). I'll have another look into it when I can but apologies for the annoyance it causes.
  3. The rule now says: "- People continuously selling nickable electronic items i.e. phones may have their accounts suspended." I hope that clarifies it.
  4. When the report function is used frequently by particular users to report 'non emergencies' the moderators get annoyed that the emergency hot line channel is used for small offences. We'd rather it was used for the big things. We do frequent sweeps of the forum and clear out the trash posts and some, if not all of the small offences will get spotted.
  5. If you know they are stolen good then please report it to the police, they have more power than us to arrest people. Just because someone is selling 'nickable' goods does not mean that they are stolen goods but again if you have suspicions please report it to the police.
  6. They're not allowed to sell fake goods, please feel free to report them to Trading Standards and we'll do everything we can to help.
  7. We don't just delete posts because we want to, it's because they break the rules. In the rules it explains that we don't have time to email everyone who breaks the rules to say why their post has been removed. maxamydus, you were selling fake goods which is illegal and therefore not wanted on the forum. Twirly, there's no record of any post of yours being deleted.
  8. Then you can't advertise I'm afraid, you have to be an East Dulwich company to take advantage of the forum and post once for free.
  9. Hi Yes, the server upgrade caused some issues however it means that the forum's up and running which is a bonus. If you type in a website address with the http:// bit then it will automatically be turned into a link, like this http://www.bbc.co.uk/
  10. Or send me a PM
  11. I am Admin. Think of me as an omnipresent mild mannered janitor that hangs around keeping the place tidy. There are others too lurking amongst you in administrator/moderator/lizard roles that provide a most excellent service and deserve the greatest honour bestowed upon them by the people of East Dulwich if such a thing existed. Anyway enough about them, you asked about me. Sometimes I make mistakes, sometimes I don't. In the background I deal with all the goings on of running the forum such as server upkeep and maintenance, legal threats, dealing with fake posts, taking abuse from a couple of unhappy users etc etc but generally making sure that the 35,000 registered users have a fun and useful place to discuss East Dulwich. And things not East Dulwich in the Lounge. No one else can become Admin and I can't be voted off the forum so sorry you're stuck with me.
  12. stacey-lyn, your post was discussing and criticising that place, which I have people not to. You never contributed to the original Kingsdale or "That place" thread so please don't try to stir up the place with talk about "Gagging orders", this is the East Dulwich Forum and a business has asked for itself not to be mentioned. And we already have two threads about what can/cannot be said on the EDF. To quote me on another post (http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,916057,916681#msg-916681): "It's only been a few threads that I've had to remove because of requests/threats from businesses over the life of the forum. I don't just remove negative posts because I want to, I have to be given good reason. I always tell businesses that if I have to remove a negative post then I will remove all other posts in the interest of fairness, that sometimes makes them think again. With Le Chandelier I have been told by the owner that the police have now become involved and so please do not think that I remove posts willy nilly. Libellous posts, when we are made aware of them, are removed as soon as possible. Green and Blue, as people have mentioned, knew how to deal with criticism. They posted on here, explained their situation and then held a free wine tasting session for some forum users, especially their critics. Rather than fight they listened and engaged with the critics, a most excellent piece of work. Anyway I can't answer all posts addressed to me but I hope this clears up some of my actions." I'm bored of this now, can we just move on.
  13. So your thread about Le Chandelier, posted after the announcement that there should be no threads about Le Chandelier, was removed and you want to know why?
  14. Nice one Jeremy. Amendment: Le Chandelier, The Big Greek place and Fabric. That's the complete list after 6 years of the forum being online.
  15. Please be careful what you're saying now.
  16. Oh yes, but I can't remember if they asked for a complete ban or just the removal of a thread.
  17. It's off limits, please read their message.
  18. I'm not forced to do it, and when I do it, which is exceptionally rarely, I do it to keep the peace. My choice. It maybe the wrong choice sometimes but hey, no-one's died.
  19. Le Chandelier and Fabric. That's the complete list after 6 years of the forum being online.
  20. Hi, I'll answer the techie posts when I have more time but Alan, if a business complains and requests a removal then I more than likely will. It's their business and I don't want the forum ruining local businesses because of some libellous comments. There's loads that goes on behind the scenes here, only today I had a Herne Hill taxi company tell me I removed their advert because they're Asian. I told them to go stick their accusations somewhere but also to read the rules that say you have to be an East Dulwich business to advertise.
  21. In a nutshell, discuss them but don't say anything libellous or illegal. Simple..
  22. There is already a post about Iceland here http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,882800
  23. Unfortunately the original post was by the person in question and so I can't keep a thread up if I remove the original messages. The poster has been banned and came back with other IDs. Tell you what, I'll ressurect it and edit/remove the posts, you can read it here: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,913767,914881#msg-914881 Doesn't make much sense though! Added: The comments may not made by just one person with multiple account who has a vendetta against the school. There may be an individual who also posted a message which was deleted.
  24. Because the person who has a vendetta against the school posted another message after I requested they didn't. I said that if they did then I would remove the thread. They did and so I did. Apologies for that and I have requested that the school replies to posts in future to set the record straight.
