  1. Certain individuals and their comments have got my spidey-senses tingling again, they (although probably the same person with multiple IDs) seem to have a continued vendetta against this school. Their previous posts (all about the same school) have been removed because they were just unnecessarily vitriolic and of no good for the community and the school. Please stop using the forum to get a chip of your shoulder. Please note that the Guardian article http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/2012/jul/02/speed-read-academies-teachers-meals?newsfeed=true has closed its comments section because of nasty people. I don't want to do that on this thread but if Mr and Mrs Vitriol continue with what they're doing then I may have to (sorry Dorothy).

  3. Re. the bad error request have a read of this http://www.checkupdown.com/status/E400.html, especially the bit under "Fixing 400 errors - general"
  4. I'm sorry, there seems to be a problem with the Editor Tools module. It create an error message in the error log each time a message is loaded... say 15 messages on a page, 90,000 page views a day = 1,350,000 error messages written in the error log every day. That gets so big the site falls over and stops working. I don't know how to fix it and until I do then I'm afraid the Editor Tools says off the site for the good of the whole site. Apologies for the inconvenience.
  5. I never got around to turning them back on after the site crashed recently. You should have them back now ;-)
  6. Hi We have had a couple of requests about it before but I don't think it warrants an entire section on its own. I want to keep the forum as compact as possible with as few sections as possible otherwise it will become a sprawling mass, I would only be persuaded if there was a big call for a jobs section however at the moment there's not. Thank you for your suggestion though, and it is on the list of possible new sections but in the meantime please post it in the East Dulwich business section as long as it's an ED business looking for someone.
  7. Thank you for that. The server had been set up without the timestamp being set in the php.ini file, this led to the forum software producing an error every time a message was looked at. The resulting log file was 220Gb in size which meant the server was full up and stopped working. It seems to be fine now, I just have to try and get the adverts on the right working, they're important as they pay for the forum's upkeep.
  8. I'm getting a weird vibe about this thread and there are some dodgy things being said. People with axes to grind about the school should not use the forum for that purpose. Some messages have been removed, and if the perpetrators continue then they will be banned and this thread (and others about this school) will be removed.
  9. Thanks for that jonnie, I've changed the advert size and within the hour it should update.
  10. Have you cleared your cache?
  11. Hi This hasn't changed, you should still get emails and a message at the top of the pages telling me there's new PMs. Anyone else having a problem?
  12. Hi Assuming it's in East Dulwich it'll have to go in the for sale section.
  13. Please leave out the personal insulting comments people. Undisputedtruth you were removed from the forum before because of complaints against you and your attitude but you were let back in. You're not in the Lounge now so please play nicely.
  14. Go for it, in the Lounge of course
  15. It's b ump
  16. Have you cleared your cache?
  17. Lounged, and Steve T banned again.
  18. The " - East Dulwich Forum" is me, not you, well something on the server needs a re-configure but I'll get round to fixing it one day. Should anyone want to show their appreciation for the forum please do feel free to donate towards it.
  19. Hi Thanks for you patience with us whilst we resumed normal service. There probably will be a few oddities here and there but they maybe cache related to your browser, if things are going wrong please clear your cache first http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cache I have to say a big thank you to the guys at Heart Internet where the server change happened, they've done a fantastic job. If you ever need web hosting please consider using them. And an overdue and massive thanks to the moderators who help run this forum, you do a great job and it's really appreciated. OK, so back to the forum, I hope you find it runs faster for you.
  20. Ah, well spotted Drew, it's happening tonight and should be back up tomorrow morning. Then more changes may occur Thursday night. Sorry for the poor information.
  21. Hi We are upgrading the forum's server, in fact we are moving it to a new one with shiny new hardware, 100Mbs connection (instead of 10Mbs) and double the RAM. There was a red light on the box that said "About to break, take action!" so it had to be done as soon as possible. So to move it over to the new server we are going to take it down tonight at 21:00 and bring it back up when we can (these timings may change). Ideally this will be the next morning (Thursday) however if things go wrong it maybe longer. Also to throw a spanner in the works I'm going away on Friday lunchtime until Monday morning, so should anything go wrong with the server move and it's not resolved by 12:00 Friday expect a forum free weekend. Hopefully this will not happen but I thought I'd warn you just in case. (Edited because I put the wrong day on there. Thanks for pointing it out Dean. Drew.)
  22. The message can be accessed, log in with your original username and you'll see it. Simple.
  23. Please can we use the other Iceland thread. Thank you.
