  1. Hi Thank you for asking first but this forum's just for jobs in the East Dulwich area. Maybe you have another more local forum? Good luck in finding someone.
  2. And no signatures please.
  3. Hi, sorry for the delay. For some reason the ignore facility creates loads of error messages which fill up the forum database and make it crash. If we ever get time we will look into and bring back the ignore feature but I think it maybe related to the ignore module not running on PHP5.3, which means it's not a quick fix.
  4. Automated PM would be more courteous I agree but programming this system to do it ain't easy. I'm not inherently evil, just partially. No idea about Nicolas, but there's a thread in the Lounge discussing him.
  5. Hi It's because its title is 'What's happened to Nicolas?' and when I scan the ED issues list I think "No way is that an ED issue, it's about someone called Nicolas" so I move it somewhere relevant, and based on that title I move it to the Lounge. And because of the amount of incorrect postings we just can't inform everyone about their mistake and the message being moved.
  6. You reported a post yesterday at 13:19.
  7. People should now be able to post again, please be careful when embedding things (there was a missing closing bracket on the above video which caused some browsers to break).
  8. Hi Gidget, The forum was running exceptionally well last week and looking into what you said further and chatting to some of the Admins/Moderators it seems you have reported 322 messages previously and been warned not to report so often. Your constant reporting dilutes the seriousness of any messages that you report so please appreciate that when you are actually reporting a "serious" incident it take a bit longer for the team to address it due to the engrained lethargy from seeing an email entitled "Gidget has reported a message" for the 323rd time.
  9. Yes, non ED companies can be recommended but the recommender has to be in ED. No, companies are not allowed to continually advertise themselves.

  11. Hi ianr, we disabled some file-type uploads in an attempt to stop some spammers posting on here. Normal service has now been resumed.
  12. Please do not say the house number publically if you know. The police may disclose it if they want it known publically.
  13. Bic Basher Wrote: > Oh didums, they could just get on one of the other > trains that server Peckham Rye instead. Please discuss this sensibly without name calling it's starting to get a bit silly now.
  14. Stop winding people up UDT. Final warning.
  15. To be honest there's not much functionality open for external apps, there's an RSS feed but that's about it. However if someone wanted to create one that accessed the database then I'm sure we could assist.
  16. Fuschia Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I just posted a long reply it is disappeared as I > pressed post just as your post was moved to the > lounge (god knows why) Because it's someone asking for advice about a company, that's in Herne Hill. It is not an East Dulwich issue hence it was moved out of the ED Issues section. Please do not report messages because you think they have been moved to the wrong section, reporting messages makes all the moderators jump to arms and so therefore should be used for more serious offences only. Sorry for the interruption.
  17. Hmmm, if you're asking if it's possible to sell a car on the EDF then yes it is, as long as you're local.
  18. Hi It has been thought about but we would rather not have a whole section for nannies, it's too much extra effort at the moment but thanks for your suggestion and who knows, if we get more time we may try and do something about it.

  20. I'm not creating another rule to state the bleeding obvious about duplicate posts, there's too many rules already. What usually happens in this 'give-and-take culture' is people say "sorry, I didn't realise that I shouldn't post a message in both the What's on section AND the ED issues section, especially as I now realise it's not a East Dulwich issue and was actually trying to give it more coverage by slipping it through the net" Then I say "oh, ok, I'll put it back up but in the correct section for you". This hasn't happened this time, I'm being told that I've done wrong for keeping the forum tidy, am harsh and inconsiderate. Edited to add: Sometimes I maybe those things but in this case it's about removing your duplicate post.
  21. I was talking about dragging up all the issues I've ever had with you, your email problems , your signatures, your events, your personal spats, your issues with x and y etc etc. Let it lie Sue. Final ever warning. I'm that close to banning you just to make my life soooo much easier.
  22. Unfortunately we don't have time to tell everyone who has to have their posts moved/edited/removed for whatever reason (it's probably about 15 a day) as it would leave no time for me to tend to my herbaceous border.
  23. Sue, I will not share them as I have better things to do than drag up your old issues. Let it lie.
  24. Sue, I assume you are talking about the exchanges between you and another user because they have flared up recently. To some the exchanges are amusing ("better that EastEnders"), to some that are like rubbernecking a car crash, to me they are a pain in the arse and I do not wish to get involved in personal spats between posters, which despite you saying otherwise is what they are. You have asked me to consider banning the other user, which I have done and I have decided to take no action because it a personal indifference between the two of you. Don't get me wrong, the other user is aware that they have made comments that I don't want on the site and they have apologised. I have no idea if accusations are true or false, I can only go on what I am told and use my judgement, based on my experience of the the forum and the individuals involved. I have lots of experiences with you Sue on which to base my judgements. My advice, keep your issues off the forum.
  25. Ahhh, now a 301 could work. All the DNS settings are the same as before, something somewhere is just pointing http://eastdulwichforum.co.uk to a broken page so I'll give that a go.
