Any trouble in East Dulwich?
Administrator replied to Administrator's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I would like to keep this thread informative and useful so please can we keep this thread about facts. The army, Cameron, JJB Sports and other riot related opinions can be shared in the Lounge. -
Please post your message here and keep it factual. And keep it real. There's discussion about the Peckham issues here http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,720583

There's a discussion about goings on in Peckham in the Lounge http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,720583

Apologies, it sounded like you were saying I should give him some slack for being dishonest to get himself some work. You know I can be quite harsh and have zero tolerance towards those who break the fake posting rule on the forum, but maybe you've missed the previous occasions where I've shown people up.
-
If he had robbed a robbed all his customers, or kidnapped a child I would have reported him to the police, not simply put up a warning to people not to use him. And if you think lying to get business is ok so that someone can "get himself some work." that is your opinion but it is illegal and I don't want it on the forum.

Behaviour..any pointers from the Administrator please
Administrator replied to languagelounger's topic in The Lounge
languagelounger I have read your email, and will get back to you but events that occur outside of the forum (i.e. are not directly associated to the forum) I cannot really comment on you but I would advise that should get proper legal advice on those matters. However if you could send me links to the posts you are talking I can try and help with those. -
Have you tried turning it off, waiting 10 seconds then turning it back on again? Seriously though we've not heard of this happening before so we'll keep an eye on it and please let me know if it happens again.

Kingsdale being investigated for malpractice
Administrator replied to BB100's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I light of the fact that this is an ongoing investigation I have decided to removed posts and lock this thread because it may interfere with the investigation. -
Hello. Is the search function not working at the moment?
Administrator replied to Curmudgeon's topic in The Lounge
It is working but as StraferJack says, it doesn't work on two or three letter words. -
Is anyone else finding the forum slow at the moment?
Administrator replied to Sue's topic in The Lounge
Sorry about the downtime, during this period the forum's sometimes set so that only you guys can see it (but no one else can). It should be back up in the next couple of hours. -
The title was "Jags", I thought it was about Jaguars. See posts/rules etc about making the title rather good instead of useless. And by the sounds of it it's a discussion about fees and nothing to do with East Dulwich so should probably go in the Lounge, I'll go have a look and move it if necessary. Consider this the whinger's corner.

I do a sweep of the forum a few times a day where I tidy the place up. I move posts based purely on the title because I don't have time to read the 500+ daily posts to make sure the content is correct e.g. a title saying "servicemen in 1864" goes in the Lounge, a title saying "East Dulwich servicemen need help" gets moved to the ED issues/gossip section. It's a small amount of effort to make the title relevant, it helps us keep the forum cleaner, working smoothly and easier to use for everyone else. It's a shame that some users think they should their own rules and have a go at those that help them.

Not a lot > This is a serious issue - and this topic does not belong in The Lounge. Agreed, you should have made the title relevant so we didn't move it to the Lounge. > There was a child killed on the way to school on > Peckham Rye last year and another seriously > injured when hit by a bus near Brockwell Park. > This is a thread about a demonstration tomorrow. I am aware of the children killed and I am now aware that this is about a demo tomorrow. > No wonder no-one comes on this forum any more. 5,300 visitors here yesterday, you must mean be referring to the West Dulwich forum. I've made the title more appropriate and moved it back to the ED issues section. Good luck with the demonstration.

It's a weirdo who keeps offloading their mental problems onto the forum and a few users. Please report any messages especially PMs, so we can continue to try and get them sectioned.

No. It means they have abused the ban which means their second chance has been used up. When BBW was given eight chances by me and each time continued to break the rules it meant my 'give them a bit of slack it's only a forum' attitude went out the window. However if they apologise then they will more than likely get another chance. Unless of course they are MikeCG or one of the racists then it's a life ban and the police are made aware of them.

Mother Goose Nursery on Upland Road, any thoughts?
Administrator replied to checkmeout's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Messages removed upon request. -
The title asks what the amplified music is, Country & Western? House? Ragga? Asking what music is is not an ED issue.
-
Moved to the Lounge as I can't see that it is about East Dulwich. If it it please edit he title to reflect this.
-
I saw 'school' in the title and moved it. Ham fisted indeed! We get so many threads posted in the wrong section that it's impossible to read them all to decide if to move them, that's why I like well written titles. Poorly written ones get moved all the time, I'm not saying yours was poorly written but that it go caught up in one of my tidy-ups.

We're just waiting for that particular user's ISP to come back to us with their details then we can forward them to the police or the mental health authority to deal with him in the most appropriate way.

Burglary (Off Bellenden Road 23rd May)
Administrator replied to Alan Feedlebra's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Sorry to here that. In order to make others aware and potentially stop this happening to others please can you give as much information as possible e.g. how it was done, what time, your location etc may help. -
Police information for our areas.
Administrator replied to PeckhamRose's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Apologies John "The First Surrey Rifles - Vimy Ridge - 23 May 1916" did not appear to be related to East Dulwich, so I moved it to the Lounge. Number of hits does not imply usefulness PeckhamRose, if it did then Community Veg Swap is more useful than this.
