  1. Oh, I see you flagged them up as not being in East Dulwich by posting messages on them Cate. Thank you, I have removed them.
  2. cate Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I just found 4 recent ads that weren't in ED. > They are in the top of the Property Section. Do you think I should remove them?
  3. Any more insults coming my way hadenuff? I hate to think what you say to the estate agents whose service you pay for.
  4. OK, look, the forum property section is entitled "Residential property in East Dulwich". Now Nunhead is not East Dulwich, so a property in Nunhead does not belong in there. I am not going to allow property from Nunhead, New Cross or Greenwich in that section. I have no idea what people not being able to afford to live in East Dulwich SE22 has to do with the boundaries. Gary, you're just being insulting now. You are complaining that a free resource will not let you use their services for free.
  5. cate Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Admin, what is East Dulwich to you? It's the time, it's the place, it's is the motion. East Dulwich is the way we are feeling.
  6. No, it's the same as it has always been. Edited to add: If you imagine East Dulwich on a map, that's the area that the Residential Property in East Dulwich section covers. It's not a clearly defined line, it's a rough line with a bit of give and take.
  7. The Telegraph Hill post by "Jeremyweate" has been removed, got any more?
  8. I have sent you email replies but I will summarise: The forum property section is entitled "Residential property in East Dulwich" Your property is not in East Dulwich Your house is in Nunhead
  9. Congratulations Moos, looking forward to seeing the minimoo on here one day.
  10. Thank you for helping her out there, HAL9000 and Keef, very gentlemanly of you.
  11. Please can we keep this thread a useful place for people to contact the local councillor, rather than a discussion about education.
  12. From Sainsbury's Customer Services: "The reason the systems are not equip to access forums and blogs is because we want to limit the availability of distractions that we expose our colleagues to, having an open internet connection to the computers in store."
  13. Thread removed upon request from various parties - The Administrator
  14. There was no malice involved, the poster was acting in the best interest and has since apologised if there had been any confusion. I, and others, read the post as "It sounds like him but it's probably not him because he does things another way". It was then established that it was definitely not him.
  15. It was reported however the post saying (I'm paraphrasing here) "it sounds like a certain person from a company however they usually do that act in a different fashion" is not defamatory.
  16. Nope it was mine. Apologies that moving the discussion about an ED business to the ED business section caused offence.
  17. Thread about a business moved to the Business section shocker! Thread about the forum moved to the About the Forum shocker!
  18. Not all swear words have four letters, eg fucker. Please stay on topic.
  19. Axeman Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > So, perhaps the > administrator could re-post the deleted text. > Seeing as I've technically been accused of a > crime. No, you've been politely warned to stop posting offensive material, I will not repost the offensive material as that would be silly.
  20. Yes, the /tmp folder on the server was full up again which stopped the search from working. Should be fine now.
  21. OK, it's fixed. We did a database backup earlier today and the 2.7Gb of it filled up the server and stopped the search working. We deleted some old backups and there seems to be enough space for the system to work properly now. Phew!
  22. We're looking in to the search problem, hopefully normal service will be resumed shortly.
  23. Newells have been banned from being mentioned on the forum because of fake recommendations. If you see any more please report the message.
  24. I did manage to see this one but sophiesofa's right, please ask questions in the About this Forum section. If I created a section for people to find out people's opinions about topics like bins, speeding on Barry Road, cycle highways, Homestall road humps etc then it would just be the same as this ED issues section. Too confusing. This thread is "East Dulwich councillor - can we help?" and is about specific issues addressed to the councillor, not really for continued discussion about topics.
  25. DJKillaQueen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > And another thing admin, as you are so hot on keeping > everything on topic, why don't you delete the off > topic cr@p from this thread. No balance as usual. Sorry you feel that I am unbalanced in decisions DJKillaQueen. Where the forum is concerned myself and the team have to make decisions based on various factors such as complaints (and their validity), offensiveness, keeping the peace, quelling aggressive responses, the 'flow' of thread on the forum, number of people it affects etc. I feel that taking those into account makes for balanced decisions, rather than just taking sides or giving in to the continual demands from one side. This thread is Ask Admin, it's informative and helps people learn things about the forum and part of what they learn from this thread is the sh1t myself and the moderators have to put up with from people who think they have the right to bang on and on about petty occurrences or take threads off topic with their mates. They also get to see how friendliness, politeness and simply moving on when a simple 'please stay on topic' is requested (as has happened a few times on this thread) works. That is why I don't "delete the off topic cr@p from this thread".
