  1. I cannot repeat the comments that were defamatory. I remove them as it may take the poster a while to do so, they may have gone on holiday for example. Or maybe they've decided to watch every episode of Country File back to back for a few days. I have no idea what you are on about re. "The additional issue raised re: illegal dumping in Southwark cemeteries".
  2. Posts removed following a legal request to do so. Anyone posting defamatory comments is liable for their comments.
  3. Please discuss the topic and not each other.
  4. We do not measure activity in the different sections, sorry (the deactivations were requests by the individual users by the way readers).
  5. Please keep this sensible and on topic and, if possible, of relevance to East Dulwich.
  6. Hi Fuschia Five separate posts about the Florence and its food was deemed a bit excessive. The original one was in the East Dulwich business section and as it's in Herne Hill the post was moved to the Lounge, and as there is already a discussion about it duplicate posts are removed. I understand you feel unhappy about a Herne Hill business but aside from contacting the manager perhaps you could post your opinion on the Herne Hill forum. Please do start or join a previous discussion about kids salty food but please don't just use it as an excuse to have a go at a Herne Hill business.
  7. Moved to the Lounge as it's not an East Dulwich business.
  8. Please stay on t t t t topic
  9. Please behave on this thread, I really do not want to step in and have words with indviduals.
  10. Interesting story, thank you for the link Loz. I think the phrases 'pub talk' and 'in context' stand out especially when it's in regards to people having a bit of banter that can get out of hand, however we are overly cautious on here when it comes to nasty comments about local businesses.

So "How political are politicians allowed to be on here?"... in discussions about politics they are allowed to be as political as they want however when their replies should just be factual then I would rather they leave it out as it's annoying and discolours the neutral and independent flag that the forum flies. I don't know about the specific comment(s) in question but 'electioneering' and 'point winning' comments are a habitually sprinkled into political speak by candidates, sometimes they do get a bit carried away however I have recently had a quiet word with someone to leave the politics out of it. I hope that answers your question, please do send me a link to the comment in question if you would like me to look into it further.
  12. Yes, I have to flick on the 'allow people to change their username' facility as I cannot change individuals usernames myself. It's usually when someone has used their real name by mistake and would like to have a user name instead. Sometimes the facility does get left on for a longer than necessary and some may take advantage of that.

It is not technically possible to block someone from posting on one thread.
  15. It is nice isn't it, I am waiting to hear from Councillor Barber about some funding help to get a proper calendar on here but I haven't heard anything back from him, nudge, nudge.
  16. It may be an issue with Skype, try turning that off and seeing if the numbers re-appear.
  17. I did say "legal action" not "sued", and at present it's not the forum but we have to be careful and take appropriate action when necessary.
  18. On further inspection Hugeunot should not be confused with Huguenot.
  19. You can add regalia to that list. As mentioned in an email to you, there is ongoing legal action because of comments made on the forum, we want to distance ourselves from that type of behaviour.
  20. I have no idea what happened there, that is bizarre.
  21. Hi ianr Sometimes I turn on the Change Username feature for people who have requested it. The user 'rubsley 'must have seen it was changeable and changed their username to '.' I hope that clears that up for you.
  22. Scribe, I am concerned that you are a poster who was previously banned. Please note your 'private email' was sent after you posted this thread, I answered your first message. Karter, there are different reasons for a ban and therefore different reasons for lifting a ban. If you are asking about a particular user please PM me although I may not be able to disclose information about individuals.

  24. I apologise for any inconvenience Scribe, you still have access to the Lounge whilst we look into a few 'issues'.
