As an aside, there is an argument that says why don't venues just put all their tickets on ebay. This would be more lucrative for them, and be a fair market.
  3. Thought his Amstrad stuff didn't make much at all and his wealth is actually just in property?

There were the ?500 Chelsea tickets the other week too.

Quite surprised to see touting of various tickets is allowed in the offered section. I think it was a little against the spirit of what these forums are about....

I don't hate Chelsea as a club, as they really are a bit of an irrelevance. It's their players I don't like.
  7. I suppose people join in believing they are helping the cause. Certainly 30,000 at Anfield got it in the news, and people talking about it.

  9. Regarding "justice", South Yorkshire Police accepting full responsibility for the disaster would be a start. A full apology for the lies told and the spin written would be next. What this week has done, however, has helped to educate the general public. ie more people now understand the true causes of the disaster than previously, which is also one of the goals I believe of the Justice Campaign. Those people commenting on whether this achieves closure, whether it is pointless or not, or any other thoughts on their motives, I am of the opinion that it is really irrelevant what you think, as you aren't the ones with the loss or grievance.

I saw the year before that the central pens were crowded and some people were lifted over the barriers. I remember commenting at the time that the central pen was rammed in comparison to the outer pens. Even though terracing and overcrowding to some extent was common in those days, I still remember thinking it wasn't right. I found this yesterday.. Spurs Wolves 1980 semi final At 9.08 you can see fans climbing over the front gates. What I didn't know until reading yesterday was that Hillsborough was officially unfit for semi finals (as decided by the FA) for 6 years following this 1980 semi. It was only when the pens were split that it was allowed to hold another semi final (the madness of this logic). Overcrowding was reported at the 1987 semi final too, and also a league game against Man Utd only months earlier.
  11. Mrs Lard won a lot at 200/1 It was a crazy price for a horse that started 9/2 favourite of the Welsh National in December.
  12. One month Halifax figures go up and Nationwide down. Next month they are the other way round. So few sales means that data can be skewed on a monthly basis. They're still going down in general, that's all you need to know really.

  14. Had a look through and the two that look interesting so far are Darkness and Himalayan Trail. Darkness has a lot of ability for the weight it is carrying and seems to be coming back into some sort of form. Himalayan Trail has been hurdling in preparation just like Monty's Pass (same owner), but has previously won the Midlands Grand National so has stamina. Looks to have been held out specifically for this race for some time.

Quite the opposite.
  16. It's not a lottery at all. It used to be more so, but the changes to the fences means that it has become more easy to pick. For those interested here is the best way of whittling down: 4m4 is ultra long. Nothing carrying over 11 stone 1. Nothing aged 7 or 12. Probably not 8 either. Has to have a bit of ability. Has to have won a race worth 50k over 3miles at some point in its career. More than likely that year. Handicap rating of at least 136. Nothing French Nothing in headgear Nothing running first time out this season Don't use Cheltenham as a guide for form Generally in the top ten starting prices. I'll have a little look after the declarations.
  17. Disappointed...thought this was one of those Superman versus Bruce Lee type fight questions... The best one of those is "How many 5 year olds all coming at you at once could you beat in fight?"
  18. This is a pointless request as there isn't a single person left in the world who isn't a TV chef.

    Cheltenham....

Exotic Dancer for me Question marks about Denman..Nicholls face following last race said it all Kauto not the same horse and too short anyway Madison I don't think is classy enough..horses that fall in the National don't normally go on to win the gold cup Collonges is possible..but one paced for me The others aren't good enough one of the better horses will beat them..they can't all run a bad race So the value is Exotic Dancer..placed in almost every start, ran best last time out, classy, not too far behind the old Kauto, still young enough to win it, AP on board.
