There's a mobile creperie in Hampstead that regularly has massive queues. With Hampstead being everything most in East Dulwich want to be, I could see it working here too.
  2. Spice Republic rules. Nice food, decent price, always on time, loyalty scheme. Om nom nom.
  3. Surely anyone actually wanting to drive full time without tax would just ringer the plates? This whole van thing is just punishing the forgetful.

Exactly. There are so many ways that would be a fair stamp duty system which works on the basis that people only need one house to live in. As you say, too many noses in too many troughs. Oink Oink.
  5. What is more laughable is Kirsty and Phil's current crusade against stamp duty, using it as a reason people aren't buying at the moment. What they fail to remember is that stamp duty didn't stop people buying last year when prices were just as high. They argue a price fall is bad - when in reality the stamp duty of 1% can easily be "saved" by a price reduction of only 1%, so a 20% fall is much more beneficial for first time buyers than the scrapping of stamp duty. If anything stamp duty should have been raised much higher 5 years ago to stop the ridiculous price growth. Plus foreign nationals paying an additional 20% or suchlike in stamp duty. Their maths is quite staggeringly upside down, and such a vested interest it shouldn't be allowed on television.
  6. They may not be to your taste. Taste is subjective, ie impossible to be "bad" or "good". Especially when you are talking about one of the leading footwear designers in the world.
  7. I got done at exactly the same spot, had to pay the fine today - and on the photo of mine there is someone else following me. The girl on the fine payment line seemed to know all about it - saying I needed to turn at Barclays. It must make them a fortune.
  8. I feel for the genuine "Tony" - can someone tell him to change to "Anthony" to distinguish himself from conman "Tony" Or at least to market himself as "Original Tony"
  9. I reckon I am with ???? on this one. They are just like coffee shops just for those with an interest in sport and betting. Or ploughing coins into machines. At least there is an old fashioned honesty to the bookies way of ripping you off. I much prefer the slow robbery by bookies over the slow robbery of paying a stupid amount for a cup of coffee or a nick-nack from an overpriced trendy boutique. Horses for courses, folks. Literally too.

Thanks for the responses. Does anyone know about using an Oyster card on a pay as you go basis - ie jsut touching in and out?
  11. Hi I am just about to move to the Bellenden Road area and just wondered if you can use Oyster cards at Peckham Rye station? Found the forum helpful for info about the area.. Cheers Lard
