I noticed this the other day when I watched them. They are literally obsessed with us. Have fun in Madrid yous that are going..jealous over that..will be special in the Bernebeu. That Micheal Thomas game I can still remember that second of silence everywhere in the ground whilst seeing them go mad in the far corner....was a weird sensation almost as if the sound took longer to come out than the movement...like "deafening silence" in action.

There is a reason that Liverpool are seeded high in the Champions League and above Barcelone. It's cos actually, they are really quite good in European two leg ties.
  4. I think you will find that rental prices are generally an indicator of what people can afford to pay, and also an indicator of supply and demand. ie a fairly true marketplace. The prices aren't dictated by the landlords, it is tenant salary that dictates the price. Rents will drop when take-home pay generally drops, irrespective of interest rates. This year I am sure you will find it is better to rent. In financial terms only, rent is best in a falling or flat market, and buying is best in a rising market.

Why is it scare-mongering? They have provided data to back up their point. You have provided your opinion only. Obviously every house is different, and certain circumstances will mean bigger drops for some. I've seen the data for flats being sold at 70% less than peak already (albeit in other areas of the country) - just because "you don't see it" doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Newspaper ads are just ads. Just because they don't appear to drop their price, doesn't mean that actual selling prices aren't dropping. You highlight how people can easily be misled by sales techniques. Similarly, how can they not have dropped in Euro terms when the Euro is so much stronger than last year?! That is nonsense. Every index points that actual sale prices are dropping and have dropped for high end, low end, popular, rough, north, south, houses, flats etc

Any other European side would have. We had David Batty instead. It is like he was living our dream, ambling onto the pitch just playing for fun, a bit heavy not looking too professional, and then scoring a 30 yarder.

I'm a Liverpool supporter, but you can't have a greatest midfielder in the history of the premiership from a team that hasn't won it. Keane, Giggs, Scholes, Beckham, Viera, Petit, Lampard, Pires have all arguably had more impact in the premiership alone.
  10. Just always choose the big style trolley. They are free.
  11. So even with this one, what is the third game?

Bit naff, but good > atmosphere! I can remember this one, but I can't remember getting beaten at Anfield in other night time matches. I can remember one Monday night game in the 90s where Wright scored a header first, but later Bearsley scored the winner for them after the first shot got blocked, but I think that was at Woodison? In fact I am pretty sure it was. Can't think of being beaten at Anfield in the evening at all? Can someone help me out?? The game where Crouch slid the opener and Cisse scored the third was in the evening..Goodison though. The second replay after the 4-4 was a night game but Goodison again.
  14. Sandperson Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Ha, ha. More Liverpool conspiracy theories. It's > looking more and more like Benitez isn't the only > one who can't take the pressure. Just asking a question. In fact I can't recall any of Bruce's sides ever even getting a point. Just asking about facts. Regarding Rafa's "rant". His little smile half way through showed he was totally doing it for sport. Hardly a Keegan losing it. And for Meester Ferguson, he hardly has "won" mind games in the past anyway. Wenger got under his nose and made him lose it one year, and Mourinho outdid him on many occasion. To rattle Keegan was hardly difficult....he could often do that of his own accord...see what happened when he was England manager. So this talk of him being some sort of mind gaming genius is way off the mark. If anything, his continuing petulance in not giving interviews to those who have ever written anything negative towards him, shows he is still the belligerent old classless thunderous nob he has always been. He may be a great manager, but he has always shown to be quick to lose control of his temper etc. Just ask Beckham, Stam, reporters etc. I'd rather have Rafa any day of the week, even if we don't win as much. I would quite easily be able to have a drink with Rafa and a nice conversation. Same even with Mourinho and Wenger. There is a warmth to all of them, it looks like they can "play the game". I can tell that Whiskeynose would get on my nerves in 10 mins flat.

Annasfield Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Jamie Carragher "Should have listened to Rafa and > gone zonal" >:D > How Rooney didn't get a booking there I will never > know. Come on Chelsea. Carra is brill. If that was a Liverpool defensive error Monkeyhands would have banged on about zonal marking for a good ten minutes. Rooney above the "respect" campaign. What a surprise. A 30 yard dash in full fury and a blatant curse at the linesman..nothing done. "Fact" In all what a depressing weekend. The worst performance by Liverpool of the season. We miss an on form Alonso. Rafa still frustrates me at times the stubborn legend. At no point during the game did we look threatening, yet he still plays with the two defensive midfielders. In a long time we havent changed a system mid game to try to create something different. Previously when we did we won the game (albeit often against 10 men). I would take 2 wins and 3 losses over 5 draws. So many players ineffectual against the lumps that are Stoke. Still, we will see. Derby is now massive. Wigan could do us a favour, but Bruce will no doubt rollover for them again. I wonder has any ex Utd player ever beaten Utd whilst managing??

  17. Further to my earlier post, went there last night and thought it was much improved. Food was great, music was at a sensible level, lights were nicely a bit lower and it felt much cosier. Staff were friendly and the bill was correct.
  18. macroban Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > New Land Registry figures. Good link that. Interesting that a large part of the London boroughs' falls seem to be in the last month alone...many boroughs -2% in the month of November alone. This means that London is tipping now and the relatively small yearly drop can be explained by holding up of prices late last year. For example Southwark fell 3.1% in the month alone with only 5.7% in the year. Have a house for sale at the moment? Then realistically you have to drop it 3% a month just to keep it at a current price, nevermind making it an attractive offer by reducing it more.
  19. Embrace the arrers. You'll never look back. A true sport. You'll be able to go back to back with the BDO next week. Let's.......play......darts!!!!!
  20. I suspect there are still some people fighting the war in Vietnam too.
  21. Wot he said ^ Nobody minds a fair system, it is when people abuse/work the system to the detriment of others that is the problem. In addition, the system itself needs a few changes. These stories of housing benefit of 90k a year highlight some of the problems. There needs to be a balance between providing assistance to those that need it, whilst also providing incentive to work and the subsequent "freeing up" of social accommodation. Nobody should be better off not working than working. That's just not fair. I am sure you "do your bit" etc CWALD, but the justification given regarding your "right" because your father and grandfather were activists is a little obtuse. Wouldn't their "fight" have been for those that need it most?
  22. Interesting Champ League matches. To be honest, any team can beat any other so it doesnt make that much difference. Saying that though, I'm glad that ManU havent got their usual Sporting Lisbon or the like. Villa and Spurs are going to get cold.
  23. Made me laugh someone writing a post about how boring it is to talk about how real a supporter you are, only to then write about how real the support of a whole area. The family histories are getting a bit vizesque too... Following in the footsteps of my great grandad who invented Everton FC, I was born actually on the Gladys Street End, during a dull second half against Man City. Stranded as a baby I was raised by a family of training footballs, or "casies" as they were known then, and as such I have travelled to every home and away match in the Everton kitbag since 1923. Every single family member including second cousins has played for Everton and my real father is Dixie Dean. I however support Liverpool.
