Cards, cash, gold, cows, shells, yams. What's the diff? If you haven't got any, you're skint.
-
Yes, you can transfer / lend your PAYG Oyster - but I don't think you can use it to pay twice at the same entry point (regardless of whether its an offence) because of the way it works (working-out where you've been, how many journeys and knowing when you've reached the cap for all journeys in one day in which case it stops charging the card). Contactless just debits your card with a single fare but doesn't keep track like Oyster does. That was my understanding anyway.
-
No need to check. You can already pay on buses with Oyster - or with contactless debit or credit cards. The rest of the TFL network will be the same soon. Indeed you can accidentally pay with all your cards at the same time for one fare - if they're all next to each other in the same wallet.
-
You said it's an offence to pay someone else's fare with an Oyster card So I have pointed out it is not an offence to pay someone else's fare with a credit or debit card Any more questions?
-
Credit card? Debit card? You can pay a fare with either of those as well. No retinal scanner yet but sure this can't be far off.

Back in my day, when you didn't have any money left, or you'd lost it and didn't have any immediate access to some, you'd either have to hope a nice bus driver would let you on, or sneak on, ask a passer-by or fellow passenger to sort your fare, or call your parents or a friend, or walk home. These days it's totally different. If you've lost your oyster card, or it's run out of money and you don't have immediate access to top it up, you either have to hope a nice bus driver will let you on, or sneak on, or ask a passer-by or fellow passenger to sort your fare, or call your parents or a friend, or walk home. As an aside, I am totally against the centralisation of weaving.

Not sure. It does seem to be ok to wish someone a 'Happy Easter' and give them a chocolate bunny rabbit - on account of someone being nailed to a cross and left to die in agony. So who knows.. -

Unfortunately you completely failed to see the link between you being their lead advocate on here at a time when they needed new custom - and you slagging off anyone who moved here after 2002 (ie 'potential new customers') on a daily basis.

But you got the fagging bit wrong, yeah?

I expect pastoral care at public schools today is a world away from what it used to be decades ago. Not that this should be a surprise: so are so many other aspects of society and its attitudes to so many things. Nearly half a century has passed since, eg, the '70s, but for some reason it still seems to be regarded as 'not long ago' - despite in reality having more in common with the era of WW2 than it does with the country we live in now.

Step one is to post a big flouncy message - right at the top of the general issues section - for all to see. You've got this covered so that's a good start. Next, you can either: - quietly send a PM to admin and ask them to unsubscribe you Or - just stop posting in the bits you can't be arsed with and use it for buying and selling. Good luck - let us know how you get on.

I find winking 'fancy a shag' in morse code often gets results.

I've just seen the 2 women rummaging through bins!

So it's home, family, data - then bin? In that order? -
No, I think Rolf was definitely miming.

Poorly explained I meant the insidious rise of lipsyncing (and thus 'are they' / 'aren't they' discussion that accompanies virtually TV performance we watch) is a real spoiler. The worst offenders (in my book) are the ones who are perfectly capable of doing it for real.

MrBen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I also swore others were lip syncing but my mates > there texted back saying it was the time > delay....so glad it wasnt just me. There's are sync issues with digital broadcast (time slip, forward and backward) - and of course more so with online and iplayer. Haim looked like this - loads of timeslip on that transmission - but sounded totally live to me. Wouldn't say they sounded, er, 'too polished'. Dolly's in the novelty slot, aged 162 with a Bo Selecta face, comedy breasts and the bum of a 12 year-old boy, so I think - all things considered - they thought 'what the hell' and let her do what she wanted, but if they started letting acts like Haim mime it'd all be over. I find it really irritating, having to constantly discuss whether they 'are' or 'not' - whenever anyone is on anything these days. It really spoils things.
-
It was a noble effort she made a few major lipsync gaffs See approx 2.42 - on the word 'fire' after the pause.. oops. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p021gnxt/glastonbury-2014-dolly-parton-on-the-pyramid-stage
