  6. I cant make this Sat at the CPT. how about next week on evening. tuesday or thursday any good? had my dates wrong last time so tue 19 or thur 21 anyone? i'd rather play scrabble than go to glastonbury
  7. I agree a bit of rock when you work out is great. I love a bit of Queens of the Stoneage when I'm trying to get to 10k. But i'm off to itunes to get me some she works hard for the money as that is one fine recommendation. Also I detect another Lost viewer! Exciting! should we start another thread to discuss the recent season finale?
  8. Happy Birthday Mogs. Right- lets get the next one booked. Anyone free Thursday 12 June to play in a pub somewhere?
  9. I heard today in the playground that yes indeed some utter rascals had sawn half of it off for scrap. apparently the company doesnt make that sort of slide anymore so it wont be replaced! Gobsmacking. it was the best slide.
  10. You should be proud it was great. Full of hidden treasures and entertaining things for kids and adluts. And clearly well attended. That's why I think it should have had a bit more promotion. I nearly missed out! I was in the park on saturday for the fun run and also during the week and didnt notice anything. I spoke to quite a few locals who didnt know about it. I had glanced at the festival leaflets too. clearly the info just hadnt gone into my brain! Could you have had one of those banners up at the gates or something? I thought it was just going to be the funfair as that was advertising itself quite well on saturday. It would have been nice to know in advance about the no parking too, I think that should have been up on the banner at least the day before if not the week?
  11. Nice Verse. Did you know, my fellow limerickers, that apparently, as part of the Dulwich festival, there was a talk about maths and poetry and the links between. I heard that one of the esteemed (and local) talkers quoted the moxons/hoxton/foxtons limerick from this ere forum. Which is equally nice.
  12. thanks guys. i have been training a bit and it was worth it i think. one lap is approx 1 mile. very slightly over I think so 10k people you did just over 6 miles. Hopefully your one in regents park 10k will have a more exciting route. I must admit that 6 laps of the park is not the best way to do 10k. a bit too monotonous. Much more fun to run dulwich then down to peckham and round that.
  13. Good work chumasterp I did the 5k in 26 minutes. i'm doing a 10k in june and i'm also thinking of doing the dulwich runners 5k in june. it's on a wednesday in the evening.
  14. Green fair in the park cyclists doing crazy stunts big queue for nice meat
  15. so still did I sit
  16. I was pleased. came in at faster than my target. wahey. so drank too much on saturday night just to undo the good work.
  17. I heard about a new 'friend of goose green' scheme. does anyone know how to join?
  18. Well done everyone! it's over. a bit too hot I thought but better than raining. The fun run was very cute too.
  19. yes. it was great. three was a bike clinic you could have your bike checked out. and some sheds full of artwork and general green type stalls. and live music. and all the usual food etc.. But I agree. where was the advertising?
  20. making the corners of my mouth go a bit crinkly. mmmm. New one. Whilst carrying my eco-friendly bag
  21. It's the Nunhead cemetary open day tomorrow. A really fab day. Great for kids too as they get to go on a bug hunt.
  22. Only chav you protest too much! perhaps you are a student working on 'animosity on hyperspace' research? or are you maybe some sort of WFH meedja type having a bit of Friday fun? come on, which is it?
  23. I looked up at the stars they were twinkly (was that an opening line BTW?)
  24. Ha ha. Can I have a go on your loud bangy thing when you are finished? maybe then i wont notice the noise so much....... Its driving me mad too. maybe they'll take tomorrow off we can only hope. It was a windy day today which i think is why it travelled around so much. even my kids are moaning about it. it sometimes sounds a bit like a helicopter and I think i'm in goodfellas.
  25. Yay! a few of us are doing it then. I'm doing the 5k too. hopefully my kids will do the fun run too as that can be a good laugh. I agree about the general ED running misery though Madw. especially in Dulwich park! the other parks round here are much friendlier some folk even manage to grunt a hello when you run past then. maybe we all save the smiles til the running is over. certainly that's when i feel happy
