Drum is indeed a good place for foolish drinkery. last time there we demanded zambuca but unfortunately none was available. so the friendly bar staff went on a fools mission to budgens just to check if they stocked it. of course they didnt but it shows their marvellous customer service. and optimism with regard to budgens liquor stocks. with no zambuca shots available we simply drank white wine by the pint instead. mmm a sensible decision. i imagine Ant may be feeling our pain right now

dont know how she managed it but it's a fine blog well worth a read most amusing. I read it in my MBT shoes whilst my manny looks after my 5 children. On the same topic- anyone else doing the sat guardian crossword? about 2 thirds done would love to crack it...will swap answers!

I think it's good to have women only. I'd hate to generalise but I too feel the need to rant..... some of those male swimmers are just plain old bad drivers when it comes to lane etiquette. In the women only sessions you dont have to worry about male swimmers who think that loads of splashing amounts to good technique. You also dont have to deal with so many other swimmers with serious spatial awareness issues. Or overtaking right at the end of the lane when you may as well just wait. Or even one male swimmer overtaking another male swimmer overtaking a female swimmer...all at the same time in one lane! Seems like taking your kit off and getting in the pool really brings out the worst in (a very small group of some) men (who clearly dont represent all the rest). Hurrah for the groovy non competitive cooperative all female swimming sessions.

a treasure hunt, or a quiz on local info is a great idea. you could set up a poll on important local issues too, to gauge the opinion of the locals on questions like: is ED better now or 12 years ago? Are chain stores good? Will William Rose ever take credit cards? Are free chocolate brownies nice? The we will know the answers once and for all
