I got bitten yesterday evening. They must be virulent b*********s because I have never had a bite hurt like that, usually they just itch. And it was through clothing! I shall treat them with respect from now on

I hope they put back the traffic lights as they were. They were the only ones I know that if you pressed the button-the lights turned immediately to red.

Thought I'd let you know that the 3 bemused workmen are scratching their heads and talking on mobile phones as water pours out!!! Any loss in pressure and you know why.

Thank you all. We went to Crystal Palace Park which was greatly enjoyed. Especially the snake eating the mouse! -
I have a 5 year old staying. We have made good use of the Goose Green playground and been to the Horniman which was a hit. What else is there to do locally....by the way she doesn't speak English

A friend in Hackney (who also has a house in France) says they are fine...very similar to the french "petit gris" I wouldn't know as I am not a snail fan-either of them eating my veg or me eating them although it would be sweet justice. Anyway she puts them in a plastic bag in her freezer until she has enough for a dinner party.

This one was a cub/young adolescent and didn't seem to be injured.

Yesterday I had to dispose of the third dead fox in my garden in a couple of years. Am I just unlucky or do other people have them die in their garden as well?

I get a letter from the council, if my hedge strays to far over the pavement, threatening me with action (not sure what) if I don't deal with it. So they clearly do have powers. Try the environment section on the council website? -

Absolutely. Although I am usually flooded with fruit rather than veg.

If you go to a small pharmacy rather than Sainsbury's, be prepared to defend your wish to buy citric acid. Apparenently it is used in the manufacture of heroin and they can give you the once over. Obviously I passed.
