  1. Ooh free pint at The Prince Regent though :) (only joking but they do look happier than the last time I visited). I think it might be OK to start a new venture and having the energy and vibe - but it takes more than that to keep it going year in year out.

A few of us remember 2011 - there was about 100+ policemen in a line outside my flat in a row with riot shields - for some reason my flat was the point of defence - I couldn't get home, the pubs closed so I wandered and watched the looting of East Dulwich Road Tesco's.

Macron tears into Brexit - and mentions the great unmentionable within the UK - that it was all false promises. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/brexit-news-latest-emmanuel-macron-says-eu-divorce-has-torn-british-society-apart-and-cant-be-a4048421.html "included Leavers and Remainers screaming at each other in the streets outside Parliament." I take issue with that - never heard SODEM screaming :)
  6. The Queen has asked us to be nice so I won't comment :)

I remember how many wealthy people in a certain Tesco (except me obviously LOL) used to enter the wrong type of apples in the till to save a few pennies (I couldn't believe it when a colleague on over ?100K did it at lunchtime). It actually made the news when Tesco blamed the posh apple thieves for a profit fall :)

But yes, at the time my future > thinking was 'conceptual' That was Theresa May's immediate use of the term "People of Nowhere" and a few other choice comments that almost certainly came from her advisers (Nick and Fiona). (Actually the quote is ?If you believe you?re a citizen of the world, you?re a citizen of nowhere. You don?t understand what the very word ?citizenship? means.?) and below was a response at that time (late summer 2016) - that comment infuriated me and made me a "remoaner" https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/theresa-mays-citizen-of-the-world-speech-comment_uk_57fbae0de4b04e1174a53cdf Before calling A50 she should have looked at what consensus could be gathered - but way too late now.

The EU isn't perfect but it was a base to built on going forward and I believed. I don't trust the Tories on workers rights - the next Tory leader will be very right wing (the membership ensures that) and is most likely to be PM. It's also being played down but the Headquarters of many companies leaving UK means decisions at board level will be made abroad. I always supported an eventual EU Federal state before the campaign - however, if we exit we need a top down re-write of the UK constitution IMHO.

The EU have gone all Spice Girls ?We expect the United Kingdom to tell us what they want, what they really, really want,? said Margaritis Schinas." In an attempt to get May to listen for once in her life she then broke into song (I wish) "If you want a future, forget your past If you wanna get with me, better make it fast Now don't go wasting my precious time Get your act together we could be just fine"

So Cameron allegedly told Donald Tusk there was no risk of a referendum as the Liberal Democrats would veto it during coalition negotiations after the 2015 election. Then he only went and got a majority :) "It was like his day of reckoning was coming, reckoning for his biggest mistake in his life.? Best laid plans of mice and men. https://www.politico.eu/article/european-council-president-donald-tusk-warned-david-cameron-about-stupid-brexit-referendum/

Don't always believe that Remainers are susceptible - I'd say they are pretty sceptical - but it now seems the spreading of "fake news" especially on some social media platforms is acceptable to influence the remaining neutrals and now it's done on both sides. The other side is likely to just block anyway so we have the "echo chamber" effect as both sides block each other.
