Robert Mueller is after Nigel Farage and Arron Banks apparently. I'd love it if Farage was the brains behind all the sh*t going on in the world - but can't see it. https://www.newsweek.com/mueller-wants-info-donald-trumps-british-ally-far-right-politician-nigel-1214039 Lovely pic mind.

Worst local transport journeys
JohnL replied to Robert Poste's Child's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I used to catch the P12 to Canada Water and they regularly chucked us off somewhere in Bermondsey (near Millwall's ground) - you can walk from there I think if you don't mind walking. -
Jacob Rees Mogg has said Theresa Mays deal is not just a vassal state but a slave state. The video (posted by Faisal Islam) is all foggy like some strange found footage movie. By the way Faisal is moving from Sky to the BBC as Economics Editor https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2018/faisal-islam

The PM - either deluded or lying I'm afraid. Even 52-48 is not overwhelming and I subscribe to the belief that has changed. 'She said Britons "overwhelmingly" wanted her to "get on" with leaving the EU at the address on Monday night.' https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/theresa-may-i-wont-at-any-cost-sign-a-brexit-deal-that-compromises-referendum-result-a3988186.html https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-eu-final-say-remain-leave-new-poll-latest-news-uk-a8524431.html

So David Liddington (effectively Deputy Prime Minister) has said we made our decision even if it makes us poorer (as he obviously believes it will) and it has to be implemented. 8/10 for honesty 2/10 for understanding that people can change their mind

Oh - I'm with L&Q - They also do social housing and some would say shared owners subsidise social owners to some extend (the service charge for instance)
-
I own 30% and have for 10 years Advantages You get on the housing ladder and your percentage may increase in value If the price falls you could take the paper loss and buy more share Process of buying was easy - I paid small deposit I'm actually happy where I live and have some equity Pitfalls Higher interest for shared ownership mortgages Rent goes up by RPI in Sept + 0.5% (it always goes up) Service charges tend to go up Staircasing isn't easy once the price rises You have responsibility for repairs in your property You can lose the lot if you were removed from the flat for breaking terms of lease or not paying rent

JJ is having a pop today - sounds like the vote is lost - maybe she won't even get it through cabinet. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/theresa-may-accused-of-calculated-deceit-of-the-british-public-over-brexit-a3987516.html but most chilling for me in that case ?frankly, there haven?t been enough no-deal preparations to prove an alternative?.

Yes - it's a safety measure (and I needed it once) In some pubs they let you tap then take the machine away before it goes through (usually the older slow readers) - so I had one poor barman chase me across a busy pub (I now wait a few moments first just in case). I notice transport is never effected mind (if it's waiting key verification it still taps on busses and tubes)
-
I felt like that last Saturday - a delivery man came with next doors delivery. Don't know what he thought :)
-
You know when you get served first in the pub but you point at the guy next to you who you know was there first, and the very next day it happens back to you :) That's Karma. The self entitled guy who thinks he deserves to be treated as a priority so often gets left to last.

Carole Cadwalladr has reported that the Tax Payers alliance has agreed to accept all guilt in the dismissal and character attacks on Shahmir Sanni https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/nov/11/brexit-whistleblower-shahmir-sanni-taxpayers-alliance-concedes-it-launched-smears?CMP=share_btn_tw Apparently by conceding that they won't be forced to reveal their benefactors in court.

I tap - but it's embarrassing when every 15 times you get "declined" because they want you to enter your pin. Beginning to go cash again.

That decision - the one England player in the ruck was inverted apparently - his feet were near the NZ side. What does "behind the last players feet" mean :) Sometimes I realise how little I know of the current Laws even though I've watched since the 70s. Another controversial tackle/attempted charge down in the Wales game also.

Yes, I'm getting my English players past and present mixed up. General consensus seems he was lucky. I think he'll avoid a citing as yellow only.

What about that tackle by Wilkinson Legal or not so legal.

annabel42 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Completely agree. Banks is on Marr this Sunday by the way.
-
Questions now to May if as Home Secretary she blocked a security services investigation into Banks. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/nov/02/theresa-may-arron-banks-leave-eu-campaign-investigation Allegation comes from the Daily Mail in fact who since the editorial change seem to be mainly anti-brexit (although no doubt have their own agenda)

Peckham sorting office now open on sundays
JohnL replied to trinidad's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Maybe they have noticed the issues discussed elsewhere and are addressing them :) -
Labour are now introducing an amendment to the budget to effectively state their policy :) "This would target the highest earners, reducing the threshold for the 45% additional rate of tax from ?150,000 to ?80,000 and introducing another band on top, of 50%, for incomes of ?125,000 or more." https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/oct/31/labour-seeks-budget-change-to-increase-tax-on-top-5-of-earners

Royal Mail Sorting Office Closure Meeting..
JohnL replied to DulwichFox's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
So why not increase the amount of staff dealing with parcels at Peckham or have a "triage" person making sure people in the queue know if they will be served and are ready with ID and their "missed you" note. -

I got bank mail interfered with at Peckham Rye last year after having my cards stolen and fraudulently used - a young man even came to the door pretending to deliver asking me to sign for a bankcard on a piece of A4 paper - he came in to my flat to rather than waiting at the door (my bank confirmed they just use normal mail for bankcards). I ended up sending Pins/Cards etc. to the bank branch that time as I lost trust in my mail delivery. -
were there any treat or treat this year?

As a non parent I'm impressed and shocked at how organised parents are these days. Now in my day no-one knew where we were.
