  1. Higher rate tax payers - don't celebrate your windfall to soon. Upper limit of NI will pull back at least half of it and Phil didn't even mention it in his speech. Of course he shouldn't be giving tax reductions to those who are OK when there are real issues with the poorest so not unexpected .. but what else is in the small print.
  2. He'll end up being banned from Southwark

Don't like the owner but places like the Prince of Wales in Cardiff are good locations.

Oh no - just checked out his twitter and he he just retweeted Julia Hartley-Brewer, Jacob Rees-Mogg and Darren Crimes. That says it all for me.

Maybe they're too lovely - they give each person so much time (and that means explaining what form of identification is required when everybody should already have it ready) - this was OK when there were three of us waiting.
  7. We already seem to have works on Rye Lane at multiple places.

Maybe it's only temporary - there's a list so maybe I've just assumed they've gone permanently. Some have been missing a while. "We sometimes have to temporarily remove the Countdown Signs so that we can repair or upgrade shelters. View the list of affected bus stops: Depending on the complexity of the work, it can take some time before we put the sign back. Until then, please use this site or text us to get live bus arrival information." https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/buses/live-bus-arrivals They also move them to preferred locations too sometimes it seems https://www.richmondandtwickenhamtimes.co.uk/news/5058340.countdown-to-chaos-as-bus-signs-on-move/

If anything it was lack of regulation - but politicians didn't seem to understand what was going on. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2017/aug/06/decade-after-financial-meltdown-underlying-problems-not-fixed Anyway this government has just spent a little by the sound of Spreadsheet Phil.

Is that "displays on most stops" as I'm sure these are being removed. We're expected to use an app on our phones I think.

  15. It's fake - they've paid for a list of passwords from somewhere (darknet ?) and try it on. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/new-sextortion-scam-pretends-to-come-from-your-hacked-email-account/
  16. They've got rid of foreign jaegermeister and replaced it with a UK version called Strika. https://www.standard.co.uk/business/pubs-giant-jd-wetherspoon-to-stop-selling-j-germeister-in-drinks-shakeup-before-brexit-a3933801.html
  17. Notice Chris Grayling puts party before country in the below quote ... "One of Theresa May?s key allies has called on Conservative MPs to show ?calm, level heads? on Brexit during a potentially treacherous political week for the prime minister, insisting that a deal acceptable to a majority of the party is still possible."
  18. robbin Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hmmm, so not a "game changer" then! I'm still on the fence over that :) Theresa May today was supposed to have said ?None of this is about me. It?s all about you.? other reports say the quote was "Brexit talks are not about me or my personal fortunes" either way she's feeling the pressure..
  19. There is a https: version of the EDF with an EDF certificate - but you still get "This site is not fully secure" - meaning there's a mix of secure and non-secure usually. It doesn't worry me as I don't plan on doing anything secure over the EDF :)
  20. robbin Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > "game changer". Really? If parliament votes against Theresa May's deal and we are left in no-mans land with parliament not wanting no deal then maybe, maybe not. I don't know where we're headed, May might be gone in a week, it's all volatile.
  21. What is the ethnic makeup of the UK as a whole and how does this compare with the Peoples Vote march. I think you might find it's very similar to be honest. The Peoples Vote march was a UK wide march held in London. White British is 87% of the UK population. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnic_groups_in_the_United_Kingdom Edit: When you have a subsection of the population as big as 700,000+ then it begins to approximate the real population makeup I'd say (not a statistics guy)

Pochettino dives in with his take which is far to sensible :) '?After two and a half years, I still don?t know if it will be good or bad [for English football],? Pochettino said. ?For me, it?s about applying common sense. If the politicians now realise it [brexit] will be tough and it will be bad for England, why not go back and explain, ?This is what is going to happen to us?? ?If not, it?s like doing nothing when you are going to crash [your car]. If I?m going to crash but Jesus [Perez, Tottenham assistant manager] is saying come on, come on, push, faster... No! Stop!'
