  1. Looks invalid to me Check on something really old My dads first car was ECY 605K in 1974 - "Morris Orange" - and it was too, a Marina.
  2. The last time a huge police presence appeared (in Covent Garden) I discovered almost everybody I was drinking with were Britain First members. EDT is normally quiet.

    not just theoretical issues. http://edition.cnn.com/TECH/space/9909/30/mars.metric.02/
  4. "Cycle lane A: Cycle lane A has a solid white line running down the right side. This is a mandatory bus / cycle lane and motorists must not drive or park in a bus or cycle lane that has a solid white line. This includes motorcyclists unless the signs dictate otherwise. Cycle lane B: Cycle lane B has a broken white line running down the right side. This advisory marking tells vehicles that they should not drive or park in the cycle lane unless absolutely necessary." http://www.drivingtesttips.biz/cycle-lanes.html
  5. If you couldn't cross into it there's be a white line I'd think

Physics degree in 1987 and it was all SI. Some of the old textbooks used Imperial though - and it was a nightmare :)

This is why they have the first responders - although maybe they are only parts of Central London (we were by Elephant) When it happened on the bus a nurse was stood right next to the guy - she seemed to know who to call and administered first aid - first responder came in 5 minutes on a motorbike (but some use push bikes) then the ambulance was another 10 minutes.
  9. One note: I hope they don't assume pub calls are from drunks (as no doubt they get false alarms from drunks). I think the best hope is a nurse is in the pub.
  10. That is terrible But there should have been a first responder arriving very quickly. That's what happened when some guy collapsed on the bus - motorbike arrived within 5 minutes.
  11. If you google laptop squatters almost all results are older than 2015.

  13. If it affected take changes would happen. It's the interviewers I can't stand - being interviewed in a coffee shop whilst I can't help listening in :)

You mean the ones with no customers TBH those have disappeared now in Peckham (no names :) ) we have loads of little cafes now instead
  19. It used to be the case that company policies were that laptops were x spec and phones were y spec (disclaimer: not talking about any current employer) - then you'd see the top guys with their top of the range iphones/laptops. You'd ask so why do they need them ? My opinion: Make technology purchase part of an individuals remuneration - then let them choose what they buy - means BYOD though - and non standard support.

SO MANY THINGS. > It demonstrates either a lack of ...well... giving > a *hoot* really. what if part of the business says they can generate more income with premium devices I'm sorry to say I do judge people by their laptops, phones etc. (edit and I'm sorry for being so shallow :) ) Edit again: Anyway ignore my IT perspective - I have such a bee in my bonnet about technology.

So from what I get from Davis yesterday We're going to create our own customs union wayhay :) Ireland might join it too :) - will we ask the rest of the EU to join ours ? I'm now so confused.
  23. Asked my telecom guy why we have apple phones - that's what the business wanted - can't really argue with that. One thing - A couple of directors in different companies over the years have suggested giving people a budget to choose their own phone/laptop etc. - supplement it if they want a better phone/laptop -or take a bonus if they want a cheaper one. After all a plumber chooses his own tools (and maybe he does want the best tools or maybe he's okay with cheaper tools) - this comes from the perspective of me being an IT professional.

In business it's all the senior people that demand something with higher "kudos" when they meet with all their business colleagues. Give into them and you have multiple business technologies running with higher support costs.
  25. I suspect it was going to be a private area for parties which was sometimes open to the public.
