I don't begrudge people a celebration - but I expected to see people sitted at tables being served (continental style) - but everybody was up on their feet dancing etc. Why is it always nothing or everything in the UK when it comes to drinking.

That's a bit UK centric - why is the UK safer than anywhere else. Things get stolen all the time on the UK by the rich and powerful. We have one of the worst records for stealing things so why should we have a reputation for being safe - the rich will want their stuff and they will take it and put it in vaults where no-one can see it or know about it. Maybe some of our stuff would be safer abroad.
Last night in Soho looked like an explosive opening up to me - I know it was all outside but the Barzilian/SA variants don't care about out of doors I thought. Why not just keep it to a few tables for a few weeks - why pack them in like sardines on day 1. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/london-soho-lockdown-shops-pubs-dancing-b929341.html
So a quick google and I found this .. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/this-britain/fighting-the-dirty-war-94616.html Wonder what happened to the Street Enforcment Academy and Simon Baxter and his team.
Well here's Otto English's take on the candidates for Mayor - wonder if the Locals will field such a wide ranging lot. https://bylinetimes.com/2021/03/26/a-race-to-the-bottom-the-weird-world-of-the-2021-london-mayoral-election/ I have to agree though - it's a large but not a very talented field (unless you count acting)
Hmmm this is interesting though - wheres a super forecaster when you need one - It was obvious demand was higher this year when the Easter Wreaths sold out a few weeks back :) https://www.thegrocer.co.uk/category-reports/bunny-spoiler-easter-category-report-2021/652387.article The fact that they messed up at Christmas (I remember arguing with the manager of DKH about stock levels on Xmas Eve) should have alerted them too. Way back in the 1970s before the excesses of the 1980s (when we just shopped and shopped) I remember painting real eggs for Easter.
And demand might be high but it's not as high as when I was young and loads were still left over "The supermarket said customers were taking home an average of four eggs each, " We used to buy far far more.
It's everywhere not just here. Similar over Xmas - There is a shortage of things as soon as demand gets to high these days. https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2021/apr/03/easter-egg-hunt-uk-shoppers-disappointed-by-shortages
Yes but Sir Kier hasn't lost his voice, then got handed a P45, then had letters drop from their key presentation yet. Actually I wonder whether that was a satire now, cleverly set-up by May and her advisers.
he plans to stand on "list" seats not "constituency" "Chris Hopkins, associate director of the polling company Savanta ComRes, said the launch of the Alba Party would give SNP voters the chance to use their ?otherwise wasted? list votes on another pro-independence party." https://www.scotsman.com/news/politics/alex-salmonds-alba-party-to-essentially-manipulate-list-system-to-secure-support-for-scottish-independence-3180597
I'm reading so many things about Boris (Custard Creams and the like) I'm not sure how much of it is made up. Since John Majors time the country has changed so much as nobody really cares about sleaze.

I remember a comedienne in the Plough telling an awful joke and even the bar staff booed. I wasn't sure if that's what she wanted or she really was bad (I thought the former). Good old days there :)
In Wales there are 4 independence parties according to Wiki "Four parties have declared they will stand on a pro-independence platform in the May 2021 elections: Plaid Cymru, the Wales Green Party, Gwlad Gwlad and Propel (though Propel is not yet registered by the Electoral Commission)."
You see some bots practicing developing a "persona" on twitter - commenting on rugby, science or knitting so when they state their outrageous conspiracy theory they have a background.
In the short term a lot of pub gardens are booked out - surely the Plough will be too ? However it was always empty when I popped in the last few years so hope they can get something done - live music or comedy (they tried this about 5-10 years ago).

Inner Londoners still gradually moving to Outer Boroughs and the Home Counties - not sure whether it will have an effect eventually or even if they turn Tory :)
