  2. We aren't a rule maker or a rule taker. We just don't take any notice of the rules if we don't want to - but some of the rest realise that. Not sure it's a good position to be in unless you're very powerful to start with.
  3. There's a lot going on on the ground at the moment so maybe there's a lot to watch.

During Covid we seem to have evolved a council of ministers (of England Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland) as well as Parliament - not sure that will last but being Welsh I like to see the Welsh First Minister around and about :)
  5. They were supposed to keep traditionally grouped constituents together - I don't think they've really bothered to do that and have just followed the number rules and will let community links fall out in the consultation. Vauxhaul seems to be with Camberwell which has had a long affiliation with Peckham. I don't think this will be final.
  6. England Cricketers should undergo some kind of vetting (as many employees do) The issue is not that he tweeted inappropriate stuff as a youth - but whether he admits to it when asked and admits it isn't something he'd do now. If you fail this process then some kind of program might be available and by the time the press hear about it it's already done and dusted - no public relations issue.
  7. And as property is mentioned here one of the things this government could do is ensure 1/2 bedroom flats can be sold so families can move to bigger properties as their families grow and out of the starter flats - but we have a stalled (for flats) housing market due to cladding and leasehold issues meaning families are growing up in inner city flats when they would normally have moved on.
  8. We're supposed to be having two new squares in Peckham and a "coal line" which is planned to be green. last update was march http://www.peckhamcoalline.org/

Here https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/buses-performance-data#on-this-page-4 TFL seems to thing thinks going Okay. "The dual Covid19 impacts of reduced passenger numbers and less traffic disruption continued to have a boosting effect on reliability. Compared with Q4 a year ago, EWT was significantly improved and was better than Q3. Prior to the initial lockdown EWT had been slightly worse than the previous year though in general terms was still achieving some of the best ever results. Before the start of the pandemic inner London EWT had been improving whilst Outer London had recorded a deterioration. Covid restrictions have brought about significant improvements across all areas of London and the gradual return towards more normal levels during Q4 has also been similar across all areas of London. Punctuality of low frequency services also saw a similar boost due to the Covid19 impacts whilst night buses departing on time recorded record performance in Q4."

I paid over 6 for Camden hells in the Chelsea Potter (Kings Road) - first pub I went to in a year - but the staff were so out of practice they added my bill to my mates card (I apologised the next day). i suspect 6 is the new 5.

Are America and Britain separating on this ? https://www.brookings.edu/blog/fixgov/2020/06/22/when-it-comes-to-public-opinion-on-race-its-not-1968-anymore/

  14. So is he full of lies. I think he comes across as trying to hard and maybe a little out of his depth sometimes - but not sure he lies on purpose. Imagine you're in a job and some guy who is the bosses Svengali keeps telling him to sack you - at every meeting.

What put me off recently was the cost to mine it - using fossil fuels etc. Apparently it generates a lot of heat and takes a lot of energy - and what for - to solve problems that do not need solving ?

Boris has an A team ready for any asteroid impact too.
  17. Here's my link for 78 (you need to click on the status alert) - there also seem to be buses coming up to Peckham Rye and turning back around today (as part of a planned service I guess). https://tfl.gov.uk/bus/status/?input=78&lineIds=78&&direction=outbound Here's 63 https://tfl.gov.uk/bus/status/?input=63&lineIds=63&&direction=outbound and here's 363 which does head south. https://tfl.gov.uk/bus/status/?input=363&lineIds=363&&direction=outbound
  18. Actually just to confirm from the TFL site - rather than divert the 63 and 78 just have stopped at Peckham Library. "There is no service on route 63 from Peckham Library to Honor Oak and there is no service on route 78 from Peckham Library to Nunhead. "

Good luck Got caught by that twice today as I had an Office visit. I think Consort Road is shut due to the shooting.
  20. And after we add the public vote to the vote of the internal jury .. Nil Points
  21. I'm 90% sure that once the works at the station are completed buses will be allowed through Rye Lane (but no cars). I have no insider information though :)
  22. Well they're digging up the bit by Heaton Road again this weekend. Not sure why it needs digging up so much. The huge change around the station will be happening this year so I guess a closure will cover that anyway ?
  23. I notice Equity Release is being called a Lifetime Mortgage now. There would be reasons to do it (if you have no dependents for instance) - the same as cashing in a final salary pension - but only with advice.
  24. Most of the UK vote when we did middling came from EU countries with always a sympathy vote from Ireland. UK isn't popular right now - although that started with the Gulf War 2.
  25. I see perhaps a federal system if Scotland doesn't leave. If you really have 4 equal countries then one can't make all the decisions.
