JohnL replied to Huggers's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
They want me to provide a blood pressure reading urgently :) I'll leave it a few weeks to settle (Melbourne Grove never asked me for one in 10 years) - I would get caught be this for sure as I have done at Sainsburys. -
I have a bucket of coppers sitting there from pub change over years.

They aren't cleaning it as much - the funeral parlour used to clean every bit regularly (obvious reasons) but there's a huge RICH on there now thats been there a few weeks. -

Actually if you count shared ownership as social housing lots of people in social housing are on substantial salaries.

Rod Liddle - quite a controversial journalist - not withstanding his (I think tongue in cheek) remarks about becoming a teacher. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rod_Liddle

I actually thought that bit was funny.

But does that make Boris Dave Lister.

They'd do it again if there was the opportunity to listen in to your Alexa for instance - or join an online game and leave the microphone on.

Hmm - make your own view of what is likely to happen (in the end people stop reporting or just ring 101 for information) https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/minor-offences -

That is common assault. In the past the police/CPP won't usually pursue it - maybe that's changed ? -
I'm shared ownership but the insurance part of our service charge is ?220 per year. That's a social landlord who organise building insurance across their whole estate so should get it cheaper. Not sure if that bears any comparison.

It doesn't really matter if she is the most manipulative woman in the world - some (not necessarily all) of what is in the newspapers is still racist towards her. They can't defend with "she deserves it" - that's not a valid defense Here are some examples from CNN "One Mail Online headline declared that she was "(almost) straight outta Compton." 'The Daily Star ran a headline asking whether Harry would "marry into gangster royalty?"' 'A 2016 report by the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance found that hate speech among traditional media, particularly tabloid newspapers, "continues to be a serious problem."' The newspapers recognise this - they admit there has been racial inequality 'Reach Plc, News UK and other outlets have created new roles to spearhead newsroom diversity and inclusion efforts, and made public commitments to address racial inequality.' Almost totally cut and paste from https://edition.cnn.com/2021/03/08/media/uk-media-meghan-race-diversity/index.html

letter today with same information as the text yesterday - strangely also a text from the GPs surgery asking me to get a blood pressure test - totally coincidental - or maybe my records were at the back of the drawer and I've been noticed :)

that's enough to win on the first round. Porritt (Lib Dems), Berry (Green), Reid (Womans Equality Party) and Gammons (UKIP) trailing. Lawence Fox doesn't seem to even make the poll. "Strikingly, 17 per cent of Londoners who voted Conservative at the 2019 general election intend to vote for Khan in May and a further six per cent say they will abandon the Tories for Berry.Only 67 per cent said they will vote for Bailey." https://www.onlondon.co.uk/sadiq-khan-has-devastating-26-point-lead-in-latest-london-mayor-opinion-poll/

Also just saw Diane Abbott on CNN and she said the Queen and Charles are not racist but hinted those around them might have issues.
-
Prince William has said the family is not racist .. but shockingly for me he hasn't spoken to Harry yet (although plans to do so). They really have fallen out you feel.

Obviously that does not mean there isn't ?a proud history of campaigning for freedom of speech and the vital work that journalists do in a democracy to hold power to account? also.

That question refers to the future. I'm not a prophet.

LOL - Meghan is on the warpath now. Piers no longer cock of the walk. I haven't heard from Uncle for a while either.

Of course with Beth Rigby back he won't get away with it so much - I have missed her. @bethrigby "Labour source telling me they think Johnson misled the house because they say party didn?t vote against the NHS funding bill & it was nodded through....so expect Labour to raise a point of order at the end of #PMQs"
-
Boris just did one in PMQs .. and he knew he did as he disappeared fast before Labour brought the point of order to get a retraction. This is good advice for all purveyors of alternative facts - get out of dodge quickly before anyone can call you out.
