  2. Amazon test run (doubt it is but give it a few years) :) https://www.aboutamazon.co.uk/innovation/prime-air Maybe we should be able to track drones as we do other aircraft.
  3. Do millennials see themselves as yuppy - I thought it was a GenX thing.
  4. Commin Over here with their north american craft ales and picnic hampers

  6. Salmond's allegations have been redacted after concerns by the Scottish Crown Office and some (mainly the Spectator) are calling conspiracy hinting that Sturgeon was involved in some sort of dirty tricks operation. Sturgeon denies having any involvement and accuses the accusers of being conspiracy theorists. It's all murky up there in Scotland and that's not just the weather.
  7. They changed the law about these I think - it was always going to get through. Was anything modified before it finally got through (height, look etc.)

If you injured or killed someone going 30 in a 20mph area you're likely to face a large jail sentence (even if it wasn't your fault the book will be thrown as you are going 50% over the speed limit)
  9. When/If Scotland leaves maybe it will end up with new political parties (maybe those under the SNP banner now).
  10. UK and others countries have a "No Fault compensation scheme" for all vaccines so companies making the vaccine don't get sued - not just Covid This article suggests the sum paid should be increased for COVID but the point is that indemnity for the company developing the vaccine is common for all vaccines. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/laninf/article/PIIS1473-3099(21)00065-7/fulltext

One of the few times I got questioned about money by a market research company - they said name a pension company. "Scottish Widows" I said - she replied "Everyone says that"
  12. Don't forget Smallpox was beaten by a cow virus - Cowpox. "How the Oxford COVID-19 vaccine works The ChAdOx1 vaccine is a chimpanzee adenovirus vaccine vector. This is a harmless, weakened adenovirus that usually causes the common cold in chimpanzees. ChAdOx1 was chosen as the most suitable vaccine technology for a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine as it has been shown to generate a strong immune response from one dose in other vaccines. It has been genetically changed so that it is impossible for it to grow in humans. This also makes it safer to give to children, the elderly and anyone with a pre-existing condition such as diabetes. Chimpanzee adenoviral vectors are a very well-studied vaccine type, having been used safely in thousands of subjects." https://www.research.ox.ac.uk/Article/2020-07-19-the-oxford-covid-19-vaccine
  13. There was a question and answer session on this. One of the first questions asked was "is it halal". and YES it is.

  15. The Good Law group has just won a court judgment on contracts during the COVID crisis - not directly related but related to secrecy. There's been a lot of secrecy from this government mainly to the benefit of it's friends - this helps the Covid Deniers make claims of conspiracy.
  16. Twitter recently has started marking accounts with "This is a UK Government Account" etc. But it's suspected that the government runs a "boiler room" Social Media operation which is really a large group of fake/bot accounts (a former chairman admitted that this was going live in 2018). I can only find reference to it here https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2018/02/24/tories-hire-army-tweeters-take-social-media-fight-labour/
  17. Seriously - if you're clever about it or use parody it seems to be allowed. If you just blatantly try to pretend you are not who you are you're banned from twitter. I'm sure if he ran an obvious parody account it would be allowed even if it had a political persuasion (like Larry does).
  18. I wonder who runs the Larry the Cat account (@number10cat) - some people are asking questions about his fame ;)

August for back to how it was - if no dodgy mutations.
  21. I really think saying "jab" puts people off having it - it's a vaccination or an injection. But all the news outlets and politicians are saying Jab - not an attractive word.
  22. malumbu Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Separately it is bizarre that professional drivers > in logo'd vehicles misbehave themselves This would imply they haven't been given training. SO obviously the first point, us office workers have this as a matter of course. Are drivers possibly self employed ?

  24. Nigello Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You cannot guarantee anything without proof. I hope you never find yourself on a jury! hmmm a bit divergent from the thread but a person like siousxiesue's gut feeling is all the law has available to decide what reasonable doubt is if there are no instructions from the judge. Many convictions have some form of doubt.

No just the whole thing of allowing Trump to get a way with it. I still think she'll stay with him ... even if she's unhappy (and she must be how could anyone be happy living with him). which is sad.
