My mums funeral was in a CoE church - but rather than let the Vicar take the service she requested a lay person friend of hers - and they let that happen. So effectively we used the church but brought her own people in.

That's were Corbyn may come in. To be honest Boris has noticed that :) Don't know what Boris would do.

Harriet started the anti Boris thing that has brought George Osborne as favorite for the next PM. I like Corbyn because he says what he thinks - whether I'd vote for him as PM is entirely different :)

The "weight of evidence idea" without anything else is worrying for me in a world where hundreds of americans claim they are infected by biting parasitic worms carried by genetically modified cotton in a government conspiracy. if you keep reading the worm stories you think - even though doctors claim nothing is there - by the sheer weight of evidence - it's true. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morgellons
  6. ?I don?t think you heard me,? to one of his rivals who is hard of hearing Another rival ?He buys and sells politicians of all stripes,? Trump "I bought you too"
  7. There's definitely two types of people when it comes to this :) I'm group A - it's fine
  8. Wow - how did that happen Hope England can score a few.
  9. Apparently there have been lots of new allegations since this news was published - I know that it is generally accepted that weight of evidence by multiple allegations means you do not need more different evidence - but I'm still not 100% sure about that. Operation Midland (I think) was said (on TV yesterday) to be investigating over 100 "household names" Edit: there actually seems to be loads of them so probably a mistake. http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/aug/04/police-child-abuse-inquiries-operation-yewtree-to-operation-midland
  10. It's worrying that many people "on trial" - especially politicians seem to be dead - for various reasons (guilty or innocent).

Iceland took over Bejam (So there may have been a Bejam once).

My mother did the mild sultana curry thing (would it be called Moroccan today). Until I was 16 that's what I thought currys were.

Can't wait for next season :O) Twitter went into meltdown when that happened (won't repeat) Most unpopular character action ever - until Cecil got murdered.
  14. Some people used to be scared of upstairs (really) I've no idea why (though understand the falling and baggage bit) On non-Boris busses you can open the windows upstairs on a hot day :)

  16. rfolgado Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > the square and the station are different projects > by different architects. rfolgado - Realised that after going through the site - not sure who the architects are for PR station still. The drawing out and plans have a lot of detail however. There is also a small development being planned in Copeland road car park (although maybe people not that interested in that one)
  17. Looks like this is the latest website for Peckham square :) http://www.peckhamsquare.co.uk/ I think the same architects are doing Peckham rye (maybe) This one looks to be the station (after a bit of search) - links to a pdf with pics http://www.peckhamryestationsquare.co.uk/presentations/summary-peckham-rye-station-square-codesign-workshop-04/
  18. There still isn't agreement over how to develop it (including the square) - or if there is I'm not sure what it is. Since the Peckham CoDesign process that is - no update on this blog since November http://peckhamryestation.com/ nor this http://peckhamcodesign.org/stn-sq-ph-1/
  19. My problem was always the delivery company they used didn't have any option if it couldn't be delivered Others used the Post Office or Royal Mail Parcels office.

  21. Anakali in Swansea (st helens road) in the early 80s It would have been what then passed for Chicken Tikka Masala :)
  22. I still would like to split the roads (more cycle paths I mean). The south london superhighway (for bikes) is coming :)
  23. A work colleague of mine got a fine for overstaying our pool car at Peckham Lidl They sent the boss a photo too - and it was most certainly him. Banged to rights he paid :)

I hate it when someone dies and they never got to do what they wanted to.
