(Squatters there now) WOnder if the Thomas a Becket could become one - being auctioned today if anyone wants it !!!

And will it still be called the Cherry Tree ? By the way. What is the best pub review site these days (beerintheevening seems to be dying).

Some photos I saw recently (not London) of queues of ambulances waiting to drop off patients at hospital were frightening. Isn't that Command & Control/Administration - you'd think there would be a way around that.

I'll still try it Maybe the doormen/staff are based in Islington and not sure of Peckham yet. The Hope had local people (I was recognised on opening week from another pub :) ) There is a potential pub crawl too (Camberwell, Pelican, Hope, Dollhouse)

I'd have said it would be a 'change of environment' for a few hours when doing something rather easy maybe ? Co-working does seem to be popular - wonder what type of company/ individual most use them.

Agree - I suspected with my dad they assumed he was already gone. Some of the decision making has to be heartless in a way.

It's the Algorithm ? - mind you I remember the same issue when my father died in 1979 (not that it would have helped) an earlier one .... http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/523599/Man-999-call-ambulance-bath-gallstones And here's the moral "He fell through gaps in the system because he was not pushy enough,"

Like I said once - the Guy I saw interviewing in Starbucks very smartly grabbed an empty cup with a lid and placed it in front of him. A professional :)

  12. Well Southwark say "We will enforce the law within Southwark and ensure that all public areas are clear of obstructions." and they list "branches, bushes or hedges that overhang or block" So if your bush overhangs or blocks you're bang to rights. I'd advice you set-up your bush on the middle of the pavement in Rye Lane as nobody will really take much notice of it there.

I'm sure he's made it all up. http://www.theawl.com/2013/09/i-was-a-hated-hipster-meme-and-then-it-got-worse
  14. It's a lovely space - the issue was always the customer service apparently. I remember a post on here slagging off all the other pubs and ending "I went into the Cherry Tree (Vale) and it was just perfect". Cue derision and mocking.
  15. Ahh OK then - missed it. He sounds like a real weirdo I'm afraid - I can't understand why he'd do that. He needs a "Kin Geri" (Karate kick to the groin - one of the few I remember).

Serious and needs to be reported I agree (I still can't see the reference to groping though). But we should not be intimidated by schoolboys who need to be marched home to mummy - they only intimidate by there being 8 of them - on his own it would be a different matter - a coward no doubt. The police/council do have a mechanism to remove these people from the area if necessary.

  18. What is going on (maybe the heat). Some guy exposed himself to everybody in the Alex on Saturday (no, i do not want to see it). I remember my mother laughing so much when some guy exposed his tiny todger in Swansea car park back in the day. These are inadequates not a real danger IMHO.
  19. Is someone getting agitated and upset because of their situation really a sign of mental illness ? Some fellow Celts tend to 'go off on one' - and Londoners sometimes find it frightening or funny (or both).

  22. I stood at the bar - pint in hand - at the Camberwell Arms for a couple of hours. Got the feeling they didn't like it :)

I am, I'm afraid. I look at the dates on everything, I never have a list so I get distracted. I have to go down every aisle too.
