  1. NO - the types of people are A**holes and D**ks & P**ssies - if you believe Team America.

Incidentally, libraries in > Southwark now all provide free wifi, though no > sign of a caramel latte... In the 80s the train stations were heated - so the homeless people went there. That's when all train stations stopped being heated.

In my youth happened all the time - maybe just me and my group :).
  5. By the way - Cafe Vergnano in Holborn never has WiFi workers and is a top coffee house. Not sure why that is - as Costa and Starbucks in Holborn are packed with Sales people working.

Pubs will kick you out if you don't keep drinking. But I seem to fit the criteria for free drinks so can't complain :) I still can't believe the guy having a disciplinary in Costa.
  7. Hey Beej - It's people watching and loads of London people do it :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People_watching I still have some secret places that only I (and a few others) know however for when I really want peace and quiet.
  8. They have extended this and now conduct interviews in the well known ones in the City. One of the pubs around here once tweeted that the WiFi was going off if some proper customers didn't arrive or the laptop guys didn't buy a drink IIRC.
  9. Anyone had a Puffer Fish (or the edible bit) ? If you've had the tetrodotoxin bit I assume you're not here.
  10. just common sense needs to be used in my opinion or maybe Green Cross Man can do some work at the junction :) or even the modern Peckham version of Green Cross Man - The Whistler of Peckham Rye.

  12. I see the below "watch out for pedestrians crossing a road into which you are turning. If they have started to cross they have priority, so give way" Maybe I'm missing something else - as this is the one I know about. I suppose the OP is saying they are deliberately putting themselves in the road knowing this. It's if the person waiting behind you wants you to run them over it gets annoying :)
  13. I'd say, watch Salmond, Sturgeon and the SNP attack the Tories for a while. And see how it goes down with the general public. Labour don't need to hurry, just get it right - maybe winning the Mayoralty would be a start.

    Cherry Tree

They can do food OK (thinking Knights Templar/Penderels in Holborn) But they really vary with what's around - which could mean an ED one would be good.

Some Wetherspoons (not all by any means) are like an episode of the Jeremy Kyle show. I think of Shepherds Bush (the last time I went there).

I always think beyond the soundbite and the frontman when I vote - we're not a presidential system yet. I like to look at the local candidate too. Hope Nicola gives it to Cameron today mind - SNP seem to be the main opposition at the moment.

I'm a lapsed member - but after leaving jobs the company I now work for (no unions) obviously aren't paying subs. I still get cards and voting forms though - but if I made it known where I am - they would not like it.
  18. I was out as I had to redownload by Sky box (which sometimes happens after a power cut). AusterityUK :)
  19. Cameron said he'd rule from the middle - and I think he said it again recently. But the first week of his government - it doesn't feel like it. Maybe they're getting the controversial stuff in whilst the labour party is in turmoil ?

I get 12 mbps download on Sky The claim the expected service is 10 - 20.

Meaning when that lady challenged EdM over overspending I wanted him to say 'please look at the leaflets being given out now for a detailed repudiation including information from the then BOE governor'
  23. Someone did say 900 votes between a hung parliament and the Tory majority we got. Gower was 27 majority for instance - that's 14 voters (Tory to Labour).

But Nicola Sturgeon is far more radical IMHO - and she runs a country - just a different country. Why is England so different (Gower is Little England beyond Swansea :) )

Probably - but that's something wrong with the UK media IMHO. I seem to be the one of few people looking for something more than media ability in a PM - inspiration, vision, gravitas etc.
