Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Surprised to read that he seemed to be shouting > abuse at someone who'd actually given him > something. That seems to be the way it's done now - the moral is don't be nice because they just push harder. They also seem to communicate between each other as to who/where the easy targets are which makes me think there's organisation. The genuine and nice approach is to buy a sandwich or call the bluff on a railway ticket.

I saw him (or someone like him - same type of line) in Rye Lane (not with the usual lot though - they know me now). he was shouting at someone and following them - I shouted at him before he could start on me. Thats how it's become now. I've logged loads of this now with 101 - they go for a while then come back. (although they do leave me alone and bother others now)

Or you prepare for compulsory technology that will keep records and upload to your insurer/employer (if a work car) and others http://www.motordefencelawyers.co.uk/motoring-news/black-box-technology-can-see-drivers-being-fined-for-speeding/ (I do spy Daily Mail in that excerpt :)) http://www.fleetnews.co.uk/fleet-management/insight-is-technology-the-end-of-speeding-/49375/

Cars no - huge car sized pallets for the shops - yes Pedestrians then move into the road. Although sometimes cars stop in the middle of Rye lane for a chat with a friend oblivious to the ensuing chaos. -

My mothers dog ( a cocker spaniel) - used to chase wasps - so making double trouble for both threads - especially when it got stung and went loopy (like cockers do).

Motorways are strange as 80mph is the de facto limit - but does allowing people to get away with that on motorways mean they think they can exceed 20/30 in residential areas ?

London driving as a whole is not good 20K and new exhaust - because it never gets the chance to dry out. I just KNOW I'll need a new clutch soon :( - Toyota Aygo you see.

mako Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > If stopping 10m down the road they wont have > reached 30 so this group is unaffected, so why > spend all that money changing the limit? When I watch from my balcony people wait at the lights - rev loudly (especially certain types of traffic) then accelerate off like crazy - some go well beyond 30 very quickly (Some cars can do 0-60 in less than 5 seconds). I know the argument is that these will not take any notice of the 20mph anyway .. but at least try.

I still maintain there are very few time savings of going fast in inner London. I see people racing off from traffic lights then coming to a halt 10 m down the road. We should concentrate on getting the 'red' roads running freely.
