  3. seat today from Peckham Rye But sill not a comfortable journey - hot and sweaty.
  4. direct.gov.uk has that lane marking (and a road sign) and the following comment "Where there is a break in a bus lane at a junction, other traffic may use the left-hand lane for turning left only http://www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum_dg/groups/dg_digitalassets/@dg/@en/@motor/documents/digitalasset/dg_191924.pdf fatcats Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > BrandNewGuy Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > A quick check on Google Streetview shows it's > not > > marked a bus lane at or just before that point > - > > it's marked with large left-turn arrows. 5. just buzzed up that both suspects are 'known to security services' and one known to Anjem Choudary
  6. Seems that in Iraq, N Ireland, Mexico etc. crimes that could be said to provoke terror actually Provoke more and worse crimes. That's the real terrorism if it starts, no individual action.

  9. Well Holborn circus where a cyclist got knocked off by a taxi the other day - and a big black-spot for cyclists, walkers and motorists looks from the road markings like it's changing. Bigger pedestrian areas seems to be what I see there. What if large parts of central London were pedestrianized - cycle lanes could be incorporated into the pedestrian areas and cars left alone in main thoroughfares. Hope not - we were told both would run - but the pessimists think the Sevenoaks line will be cut :( Herne Hill line trains were originally not 12 cars.
  11. redevelopment - but has to be done really now half the station is new
  12. Cats invite themselves into a new home if they are fed up of the old one. You open your door, cat is in.
  13. Sorry, dontnunderstand that If you're working for a legal company you refer the police to them If you are burning illegally then yes, scarper. Can't see another scenario, like you check before setting fires always or arson is a risk. 14. I keep all of those things in my flat Doubt I'm fully insured for them either - but I choose to take that risk. I carry my iPhone around with me too, and use it on public transport (horror :)) ). Don't keep more than ?100 cash on me or in the house though anymore. *Bob* Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > lane lover Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > Hardly the point. 15. Yes - because it's gone, there's almost nothing you can do about it and if someone did take it they've got away with it. been there, and it's annoying. *Bob* Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Sound advice is frequently offered on here with > somewhat insensitive timing.
  16. But a defamatory statement is assumed to be false unless proven otherwise Which is why every board is so careful these days. A friend used to mock me that he took it .. and I even began to wonder - that's the annoying bit - you lose trust..
  18. Is it trolling though ? A name is given and that business has rights also. I lost 500 once - never ever found out if it was stolen or I dropped it and it is annoying. 19. Isn't 'reporting back to cabinet at the earliest opportunity' what they were going to do anyway, So the committee was not unduly concerned so far ?? or don't I understand :) Girl82 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > By the way, this is the latest news from Peckham > Vision regarding the station square... > > Peckham Vision > May 10 > At the Scrutiny meeting, the Council said they > were not intending to acquire ALL interests, just > as they were not intending to seek all vacant > possession. 20. There are reasons for laws, even if we can't immediately see them. 22. You'd think that would mean revocation of library card .... Library members must agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the library service. 23. how about a school bus or minibus. maybe yellow. In my time SEN had their own bus and classes - which wasn't a good idea looking back.
  24. Afraid to say its not always cars Saw a bike with panniers (heavy) almost take out a girl of about 5 at the bottom of Rye lane at the Pelican crossing - green man was on - but the bikes often go through this red light. How can the bikes tell when the green man is on at this crossing. They've often gone through on red since the side road was blocked up (Sternhall Lane ?) - I know this so I peep out first whateve the color of the man.
  25. If pedestrians are in the road drivers should proceed at 5mph or less or stop IMHO. This is a pedestrian refuge island - and is a type of crossing - there should be other measures as well as just the island - dropped kerbs, measures to slow traffic.
