Unless you're on a zero hours contract - and I can see them increasing through the ranks of the average employees. In the 80s the left argument was that the Tories will take into account charity and reduce benefits accordingly. (this was why the NHS was never allowed to be funded from charity in the past I recall) Surely they wouldn't dare !!! Oakhurst Grove ~ Boutique Apartments
JohnL replied to woodycheese's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
why does the 'similar properties nearby' bit show similar prices -
You do get the feeling - 10 years and nothing will change the way things are moving. More young professionals with no links to the area moving in and they really won't care about razing the whole place - so if PV want to do it properly - I'd advice now.

Series 3 has much bigger audiences in the US. If this means anything :)

Yep - originally you needed to buy acrobat writer - or whatever it was called when the internet was young. now there's loads.
-
The markings outside Co-op house are very evident now - can't miss them Saw someone race through them on Saturday night late - obviously didn't care.

horrible. beginning to think - bring back DDT (joking). We used to put it everywhere as child. Edit: just realised you can buy something like it - and it is really, really effective.

STOLEN this afternoon- grey porsche 911
JohnL replied to ceebeebee's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The riots were a crime against the state, and the people involved now know the lengths to which a state goes. So they won't do that again. We won't see sweeping up work like that for normal crime, and I don't know if we would be allowed to set-up private CCTV crime ID networks to allow others to do it on the same level. mynamehere Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Peckham Rye Snt > DATES FOR OUR STREET BRIEFINGS > Thursday 8th August 1100-1130 Peckham Rye Caf? > Thursday 15th August 1900-1930 Harris Boys > Academy > Saturday 24th August 1100-1130 Harris Girls > Academy > Consider "befriending" Peckham Rye Safer > Neighbourhoods Team on Facebook. How can it take 3 hours to fix the shutters (or is that an excuse) - oh well, 63 bus and the station opened as I got to Elephant. -

Well there's a 7 floor block of flats being built opposite Co-op house Maple house (L&Q opposite Peckham Rye) All these are shared ownership - but will attract the sort who wants gentrification if just for a property profit. Nutters who do 3 point turns on Champion Park
JohnL replied to youandiaredominoes's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
No - but it was a road where loads of young children played - so hated it, was I was a boy (17) - trick was to know where everything spatially is and pick the part of the road to do it and make it obvious what you're doing and look. I remember him telling me a proper 3 pt turn (using mirrors/signals) can be executed almost anywhere (obvious exceptions and don't cross a solid line !!!) with care and consideration. Just doing it without choice of location, signal, care would be crazy driving IMHO. Watch out its not people practicing for the test :) I had to do them hundreds of times - usually same road. is it OK to run 1,000 litres of tap water per hour on garden in full sun
JohnL replied to fl0wer's topic in The Lounge
It's going to rain for the rest of the summer The jet stream has moved - we all knew it :) I'm on a water meter - but don't consciously limit water - not extravagant with it either. -
